It was probably Catz who taught him that.

Not sure you understand how sarcasm works, I taught soO the build that won him his only game today, you can check his twitter if you don't believe me. I understand you disagree with my opinions but that's just the wrong angle to attack them.

man I like you and your build is cool and stuff, but it's also kinda freakish and let's not pretend Soo is winning games because of you either.

Do not know how to respond to this, idk what you mean by freakish it's a pretty complex build, also idk where the "let's not pretend Soo is winning games because of you" thing even comes from, I think that soO's the best zerg in the world with or without me, there's no doubt about that for me, but I do share / talk a lot of strategy with him, and specifically taught him 2 build orders extensively and helped him prepare for two very important matches with builds I created which resulted in wins, would he have won those matches otherwise? there's no real well to tell, but as far as your statement goes, he has won/secured at least 2 games directly because of me.

Does soO speak good English, or do you speak some Korean, or do you both just muddle through?

Which build was it here?

g3 vs Super, it's a hatch block into ling flood skipping queens on Catallena vs Nexus>Gate opener

Nice, I'll have to watch the VOD to see that in action.

The thought of Catz's creative craziness allied to Korean mechanical chops is a terrifying one to behold.

And... how many games did he play with strategies you created which resulted in losses?

Must suck being a pro player who communicates with the community and then has people going out of there way to lambast him lol

Also, even if he lost every game he's ever played from catz strategies, it's his fault for using them in the first place.

He types decent english, not amazing but we understand each other for the most part + we use replays and actual games so its much easier to point out what we're talking about that way, when we talk strategy like this (BO/BO counter as oppossed to tactics or unit compositions) it's mostly just outlining the build after watching some replays, here's a bit about this particular build:

[9/9/2014 10:44:16 PM] Paulo "CatZ" Vizcarra: its only 13 scout normal
[9/9/2014 10:44:25 PM] soO: 13?

[9/9/2014 10:44:38 PM] Paulo "CatZ" Vizcarra: but only need for this build: hatch first + scout

I'm just not buying this confirmation bias, Catz is a great innovative player and it's good for him that he's had the privilege of playing with korean pros and communicating with him, but if all you do is take credit for wins and ignore the losses then you are presenting a very slanted view of yourself.

I'm just not buying this confirmation bias, Catz is a great innovative player and it's good for him that he's had the privilege of playing with korean pros and communicating with him, but if all you do is take credit for wins and ignore the losses then you are presenting a very slanted view of yourself.

Whenever someone has used my strats and I know its coming I tweet before or while they do it, not after they win or lose, and it's normally, in this case, soO who approaches me to help him prepare, not the other way around.

[1:33:39 AM] Paulo "CatZ" Vizcarra: good night and don't worry about it, just focus GSL
[1:34:01 AM] soO: thank you

[3:36:52 AM] soO: if you have a good strategy tell me please
[3:36:59 AM] soO: i must beat stats
[3:37:00 AM] soO: T_T

As I said before I think soO'd be the best zerg in the world right now, with or without my 'help', but when you say I have the privilege of playing and communicating with him it makes it sound like he's the only one doing me a favor here, I think we both in different ways benefit from it - to be quite honest, the exposure for me is pretty nice, even tho I think most people never get to find out where some ideas came from - on top of that soO's a friend and I'm happy to help him if I can, but that help is not only welcome and appreciated, it's also normally requested.

**Edit, after reading your previous comment** Idk why I'd even want to hide it was my strategy if they lost with it, they wouldn't use it if it wasn't good / didn't do well in practice while testing it. Solar used my spore rush on habitation station and lost with it for example, but he won every game in practice with it, and I don't think the build ultimately lost him the game, idk why I'd feel bad or hide it, I was very excited just watching that game. I don't just randomly tell them a bo and expect them to do it in the GSL, also a lot of it comes to playstyle not everyone can do everything - soO's pretty open to aggressive ideas where DRG for the most part prefers macro for example, one of the players I talk to might be very comfortable against cannon rush or double rax, where the other one wouldn't 15 hatch and 13 scout because they're not comfortable vs cannon rush from that position for instance, so this strat wouldn't suit them, I discuss more tactics than strategy with DRG where I discuss more BO's with soO, but whenever they use one of my builds or even just tactics that makes me happy, that's a win for me in some ways, regardless of the ultimate outcome, cause that means that they think that's their best shot in that particular game the compliment in that alone and the ego stroke I get for free is nice.

Super impressive, CatZ!

I completely understand your position - to see your idea used in arguably most competetive scene in SC2 must be pure joy.

Thank you, yeah it's very exciting to know exactly what they'll do before they do it, it's fun to watch how the build unfolds, and sometimes it's even exciting to facepalm if they mess something up or I disagree with a decision, for istance, when soO did the spine rush vs Trap, I thought the game was much closer than it needed to be, Trap's reaction was weak but soO messed up a few details so I was worried and even somewhat nervous that it wouldn't work
