I miss the good old Seed. I was in San Francisco for IPL TAC 3, where Seed ended the incredible Summer of Taeja (though it was 1-1 between the two at the end of the day). To beat Taeja, who was crushing opponents left and right was incredible to witness. To tell you how good Taeja was this day (and thus how impressive Seed was to overcome him), two of his games ended up in TL top 40 games of 2012.
TL;DR : Seed is the guy who defeated one day the unstoppable force that a few hours earlier played so well that he made 2 of the top 40 games of 2012. (Games are ranked 15 and 40)

Axiom needs a team league to come back or something. Seems like they play really well when they are working hard to play in those. Some extra motivation maybe

I won't bury Heart yet because he was in a perfect position, that was just that doom drop which made no sense at all. I still believe he can get past Seed and then show his very strong TvZ.

Wow upgrades are so crucial in PvT. Because of chronoboost and the state of the meta we seldom get to see the other end of the slaughter that occurs when one side has 3-4 upgrades more but it's equally gruesome
If seed recalled his 2nd push when he got caught out on the map with his 2 colossi he might have been able to steal the victory. He let everything died there with a MSC full energy doing nothing on top of his army

I hate the style Seed is showing in this series and honestly I'm glad Heart will go through even though his TvP is definitely lackluster sometimes. At least Lorning saw many stalkers melting ^^

I was really under the impression Toodming had potential to make his opening work for quite some time because roaches inflate supply numbers so much. But not being able to finish off that third was the nail in the coffin.
Scar actually microed that defense quie well also, constantly finding cost efficient positions to wedge her roaches into. she was pretty much stalling for 2+ to finish, and then it was a rout.
Haha i never saw that spore tactic Reminds me of Day9 telling stories that he tried building missle turrets under overlords in BW when he was new to the game
Toodming's play is underwelming today.... He should have just went straight to the main and force a costefficient fight when scarlett would try to defend with her roaches... oh well Rooting for seed in the loser match i guess

Scar just spanked him this time around, fairly symptomatic of the difference since last time. Her ZvZ has been monster mode lately, I kind of expected this.
kind of disappointed with Toodming. I wanted Scarlett to win but I was hoping he would put up a stronger fight in game 2. Game 1 was interesting though. Hopefully he can redeem himself against Seed.

I actually think he was at this level for a long time, but was never able to bring it out because of chance (no tournaments) bad TvP in HotS or nerves.

Scarlett went into some muta harass into a Dimaga lingbane 0/0 bust. Heart's army gets run over, but he saves scvs at third, drops into Scarlett's main, kills spie and pool and Heart was able to hold off with reinforcments and Scarlett using banes on his scvs so she couldnt get a killing blow while Heart gets 2/2 vs her 0/0.

Scarlett built 28 Banelings, killed a lot of Heart's SCVs while Heart sent a drop to Scarlett's main. The Banelings destroyed most of Heart's third and natural SCVs and a good deal of Marines but Heart held on with upgrades and positioning. The drop destroys the Spire and Spawning Pool so Heart rallies an army and crushes Scarlett.

To be fair with him, there wasn't any good decision to make. He didn't have enough gas to have both colossus and phoenix and the numbers of both hydras and mutas were worrying. The game was already lost at this point.

If he goes single robo immortal templars stalkers I think he can still do something. It'd have been hard but he'd definitely could have make something happened.
Seeing this game makes me think, could mass roach/vyper be a thing? The Stephano roach max-out paired with the fastest possible vypers, skipping hydras completely? The big problem with mass roach is that they have no range and can be made completely useless by sim cities and forcefields, but quick vypers could solve the problem I think. It would hit much earlier than the roach/hydra/vyper timing.

Absolutely, I would never do that after scouting a stargate, but you can still plant an hydra den soon after the infest pit, not to produce anything for the first wave (which should be a maxed-out roach/vyper attack) but to have the emergency hydra option if you missed some SGs
