- You must be from United States, Mexico, or Canada (Excluding Quebec)
- You must be 18 years of age when the cup begins.
- You must be currently in Diamond League or higher on Starcraft 2 Ladder
- Cup is limited to 512 people, single elimination.
- You must play on the valid battle.net account attached to your ESL profile

In a Best of 3, a veto (removal and pick) system is used. The high seeded player(seeds can be found at round 1 on the grid page) decides who starts veto. Whoever starts veto also gets first map pick. Players take it in turn removing maps until only 3 maps remain in a best of 3. Whoever veto'ed first also picks first map. Second map is chosen by player who veto'd second. Maps are played in order they are picked. The remaining map is played last.

Quebec requires any sweepstakes to register with la régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, file a bunch of paperwork and allow la régie to mediate any disputes.
EDIT: Oh, and I think they need to pay a fee to compensate la régie's troubles in processing all this.

Honestly, if we saw this at high level regularly, it probably wouldn't be as entertaining. It's like Carriers. They're a boring unit, but since they're so bad we get excited to see if a player can make them work.

Special Quebec laws prevent participation in tournaments where poutine and cigarettes are not accessible. They also specify that atleast one of the casters must be a white guy with dreadlocks that spends most of his time asking other people if they have any pot.

Every Zerg I've met thus far has either 10-pooled or gone for a 16 Hatch, 16 gas, 16 Pool two base tech build.
Thus far, both variations die to the Korean 4-Gate, even though that's supposed to be an archaic PvP only build .

Often they don't even make any Zerglings. I walked across the map with an unchrono-boosted Zealot and killed three Drones the first time I encountered that. It's weird.

Oh, so they were going to have a global qualifier, but something went wrong. So instead of wasting resources and not doing a qualifier, they did a Detroit qualifier. It sounds like they are still planning for 3 Global qualifiers, so probably some red tape got in the way and had to postpone this one.

Can't really, if he leaves he dies, she had more bases and tons of static def. He absolutely had to keep his fourth alive, if he attacks an expo but loses the main engagement it's over anyway. He was checkmated when Scarlett got high ground control outside his base more or less.
