Now that Axiom has already qualified I'm excited to sit back and see what happens here. Gonna be exciting to watch as a straight out winner takes all match really.
I'm kinda hoping that mouz wins it because, and I mean no disrespect to them, they are a much easier proposition in the play-offs than yoe Flash Wolves.
I can't see mouz beating yoeFW San and Leenock though and yoeFW have good depth as well.
Shame this will be VortiX's last game for mousesports though.

Yeah that would be terrible if mouz had to sacrifice something like a forfeit map or even the whole tournament after losing Vortix. Hopefully things can be worked out and he can play under mouz for the rest of this.

Sort of changed my mind about this one. I'm actually rooting for yoeFW. I feel they deserve it more, it would avoid any potential drama about being a player short, and even though yoeFW are a tougher proposition that will only make it more exciting. Plus I have faith in the Axiom players - they are more than capable of beating anyone.

There is no rule whether a newly signed player would be allowed or disallowed for the playoffs. When mYinsanity signed Sacsri Pengwin ruled out that he would be allowed to play this season, so I guess it would be disallowed for the playoffs.

They might make an exception though due to exceptional circumstances. I mean, I feel this would be far more fair than letting them have a joker which would be undermining in my opinion. It's also preferable to them having to drop a map each game.

It's just the general lack of technical analysis and in particular inaccurate calls regarding engagements and who is winning at any given moment, that can get a little old at times. I typically mute everything except a very select group of casters anyway so I don't care too much, but I get his point.

He was never part of a won CW though. Mouz went 8-2 without Dear and 0-1 with him. If we count every game, he played as lost, Mouz would still make the playoffs, just with 8-3/+9 instead of 8-3/+12. I'd say, that it counts.

Congrats to Mouz and to Starbuck! Really happy that they got to the play-offs, getting ahead of EG, Mill, MYI and yoe Flash Wolves. A very impressive achievement already even if they won't make it to the podium.
Still hope for another run like in the 1st IPL Team Arena Challenge when Mouz took out Millenium and Slayers in the winners bracket and coL.MVP in the Losers' Finals. They even won the 1st match of the Grand Final vs. QIM (an all-kill by ThorZaIN).

Well they had a lot of good fortune along the way but yeah, beating yoe Flash Wolves today to seal a play-off spot is certainly an incredible result for them so congratulations to them. I really hope VortiX can play for them in the play-offs so they have enough players and are more competitive.
Oh and Starbuck....what a great player he is developing into. He may have dropped out of Challenger but in the ATC he is performing incredibly well, probably the most in-form foreigner in the ATC aside from Dayshi.

I imagine most teams would not be ok with that. If you aren't paying a player and he's not contracted, he shouldn't be playing for you, period. I'm certainly not ok with it. If you want a player for your team, then hire him for your team, ex-players do not count.

Really unfortunate that Starbuck lost to CranK. Axiom would have been eliminated and we wouldn't have to deal with the constant whining from Crot4le and all this shit from TB. They already fucked up in Season 1 not being able to attend the playoffs. It is for the organisers to take a decision on this matter and definitely not up to them.

Admins have been very consistent in being harsh against teams when it suits them. XMG and Bountyhunters (sponsors and players based in germany) got away with bending the rules to no ends. If another german based team gets away with playing with players who aren't in the team then they should just stop doing this tournament all together.

It's always the teams that get the tournament in trouble. Teams are not reading the rules thoroughly when joining the league, teams disbanding mid season, a group of players sign themselves up as a team, when they're not a team, teams try to hire mercenaries, when mercenaries are forbidden, teams releasing players right before the playoffs so they dont have enough players left to compete.. How are you supposed to run a tournament properly if everyone's causing issues all the time and put you in those awkward controversial positions.
and then everyone feels entitled to an opinion on that matter. Just let the admins do their job and mind your own business. All this lobbying is getting on my nerves.

So basically a joker? That would face some pretty strong opposition from the three other teams in the playoffs, and ATC has already abolished the joker rule.
Also, do we have confirmation on what the playoff dates are, and what the format is? I know that it's a double elimination bracket, and that the top two teams go to Krefield for the Grand Finals. I also heard of Bo3 and that the loser from the Grand Finals has to start down 0-1 in maps. Is that the case? Will each match basically be 2-3 Bo9s instead of the one? That would be pretty cool

Actually it absolutely is up to us and the other teams. The person it's definitely not up to is some random bitching in an LR thread with no grasp of the facts.
I can also assure you that "fortune" had nothing to do with Starbuck losing. If half our team wasn't playing like dummies that day, it wouldn't have even got to that point. I would actually prefer Mousesports to be in the final 4, they are the weakest team and give us the best shot at the finals. I do however believe for the sake of the integrity of the tournament, that a team with only 3 legit players should not be in the finals, since mercenaries are not allowed and you can't just go releasing players from their contracts then still expecting them to play for you, that defeats the point of being a team. It's my personal opinion that they should forfeit their spot for another, complete team since they are no longer capable of competing, but the final decision is between the admins and the managers of the 4 teams in the playoffs.
As for "fucking up". Anyone who knew a thing about that situation is well aware of the miscommunication that went on and our unwillingness to drop $6,000+ on flights as a result.

Now on a more serious note. I definitely agree with the fact that preserving the integrity of the tournament is a legitimate aim. Today it's one of the best and most entertaining team leagues with high prises and a fierce competition. However, is sanctioning Mouz for deciding to terminate a contract with a player a proportionate measure to be taken (both suitable and necessary to preserve the legitimacy)?
As you pointed out, miscommunication and financial issues made you drop a well-earned playoff spot in Season 1. Financial issues may have made Mouz to release their best player. Do we have to take away 2000 dollars from them (guaranteed for the 4th place)? I believe that other solutions are possible such as an obligation for Mouz to have 4 player on real contracts (meaning that Mouz would have to effectively hire a new player or prolongate its contract with Vortix until the end of the playoffs). I agree that mercenaries should not be allowed.. although I think it should be the same rule for full-mercenary teams such as Bounty Hunters
Axiom not taking a playoff spot was not the only thing that didn't work in Season 1. There was also the transfer of the Duran brothers to Mouz and the disband of Karont3. Would be a pitty to have one more scandal in Season 3.

I believe according to the rules, a newly signed played is not immediately eligible to play for a bit (2 playweeks?). It's similar to Proleague, where new players are not immediately allowed to be fielded, and mYi had this issue when they couldn't play Balloon immediately. So roster changes are not allowed in such short notice.
Vortix is already gone. He's already played his last match. MouzVortix no longer exists. Mouz will need to work something out with the tournament admins and the other 3 playoff teams. We'll see what happens.

I can't tell, if you are serious either. Roster changes working in one way but not in the other is just flawed logic. New players (who actually get signed) coming into Teamleagues and playing is nothing new. And there is no mercenary problem with that at all.
