Head SKT, although CJ has fought so well that it would be somewhat of a shame if they couldn't make it all the way. And starting with over-performing Effort, things could get dicey early on for SKT
If Soulkey vs Effort goes Effort's way (it almost did once earlier this season), then I think CJ might very well have this match. Bbyong is very clutch, especially against Protoss (except in Bo3s), and herO can PvP with anyone on SKT. That leaves one player of choice to be used when the situation calls for it, and that apparently works well for CJ. If Effort can't get that 1-game advantage though, this becomes a very tough match to win.
I know I said this about KT too but I really don't see CJ winning this. Rain's in amazing shape, Classic is in amazing shape, Soulkey is the best zerg in the world and I suppose soO isn't awful either. Sometimes even Fantasy wins games!

Even Paralyze and Dark are pretty damn good. Both in the ro16 code S. SKT is just too good
Fun fact, all of SKT's code S players this season made it to the round of 16, except Soulkey who just hasn't played his group yet.
As much as I'd like to see SKT losing, I don't think it's gonna happen. They know now what cards CJ can play and certainly can counter them. Unless Coach Park has yet another ace up his sleeve...
I just hope PartinG plays i like the way he is performing over the last few days. Also cannot see anything but SKT win here, to many big guns in form. Soulkey PartinG soO Rain is just way to strong right now.
Not my favorite teams but I would like to see Soulkey play well, haven't seen him a while. If GuMiho gets to play I hope he destroys SKT Gumiho used to be so good.

Soulkey vs Effort is a great first matchup for CJ with the mirror matchup. Soo I believe is the better ZvZer too. Soulkey is 4-3 in SPL with his first ZvZ win against effort so hopefully that will fill him with confidence.

Well actually not quite, it's even rougher than the Pokemon one but I ran out of time. After Effects crashing and taking about an hour of work with it didn't help.
So while my few previous banners have tried to be neutral, this one is extremely SKT biased. Mostly because I couldn't find nice high resolution images of CJ players, but also because it turns out trying to rush this in one day is biting off way more than I can chew. Anyway, here's hoping I don't have Hyde's SKT banner curse or we are stuffed.

It feels like KT decided beforehand that the order of players were gonna be Flash, TY, Stats, Zest, no matter the opponent or map.
All the stats point to SK Telecom, but they did for KT and Jin Air as well, so I'm feeling confident about CJ's chances. Even as the big SKT fan that I am, I'm going for CJ! I think this first match will really determine who gets momentum going.
SKT had momentum going into round 1 finals and then were smashed by KT.4-0 MVP had momentum going into the round 2 finals and were smashed as well 4-1. CJ might have momentum. but they will be smashed 4-0 or 4-1 by SKT.
I really hope CJ sends out gumiho out against parting if the situation arises. I feel he has just a good chance as bbyong or herO to beat parting, but its much less worse for CJ is gumiho loses without getting a kill then it is for herO or bbyong to lose without getting a kill.

They've improved by leaps and bounds, that's not arguable. Still the two worst casters of any regular SC event, though. I can take Wolf with an equal or better caster, but Brendan is just too much. Maybe in a year or two he'll be decent... in the meantime I'd rather he be improving somewhere off-camera.

That was an interesting TvZ build, with the constant viking production to snipe mutas and overlords. I think he either needed a much higher muta count or a roach transition.
Honestly, it was just a very long execution since Byong took out the 3rd.
Had Soulkey managed some better comeback, then yes, it might have been more exciting, but at no point did I feel that Soulkey had a chance
He could have brought it back, but he didn't use his mutas effectively, and wasted his banes. With roach / muta he could have held long enough to swing the game in his favor.

Not even that. It was 2 medivacs worth of marines vs 4 Stalkers because he was supplyblocked from that Artosis pylon
Not only it was a fun build to watch but the fact that he killed Parting with it makes it even better. He got burned so hard, even the MULE drop in the end :D

i think that matchup is well balanced. what would have happened without overcharge, without the oracle kills. terran would have stomped the toss. and so, its even.

Seriously, playing vs. Phoenix and as a reaction, you do not build vikings or at least ghosts against mass archons? What was he hoping for?! I'm really upset on Bbyong playing it out that way. I feel robbed of a potentially great series.

This game is over. Swarm hosts will come in to play when void rays are allready in sufficient numbers. Classic is reading Hydra here pretty well. Those colossi are also there, too - this is the point where Protoss has all the tech he needs besides templar/archon and Zerg has to revolve around compositions to either counter or be active. That won't work because Hydra is a) bad at lategame b) doesn't have the bank/economy to support that composition war. Classic planned that game out quite well!

Not enough Swarm Hosts and badly controlled imo. The locusts did not rally the path they should have, so the army just got into a spot where Protoss cannot lost anymore. And not enough locusts and Vipers.

I couldn't dis-agree more. Hydra had a good plan and an excellent unit composition. He knew his opponent liked to harass, so he built static defenses in the right places and managed to hold 5 bases for an extended period of time.
But he was behind from the beginning of the game, due to that crazy gateway block/hatchery block opening, and Classic had time to build to the strongest possible Protoss army without any resistance.
Hydra had a great defensive formation set up in the center and was like "you ain't never gonna break this".
Then Classic just bypassed it through the alleyway to the right. I think Hydra then panicked, and sent all of his Corruptors to fight Psi Storm and charged Void Rays. That can never end well.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who believes that the Corruptor is sort of a garbage unit, don't know how Blizzard will go about late game ZvP, I am not digging the SH Corruptor vs Toss deathball.

Flash and Stats were KT solids. At least you have the both of them still playing in there. And zest was periodic player back in the day too. So KT is actually fairing well with their original roster. Even Action is getting one game per round.
Rats... herO couldn't take a game vs SKT or KT... So hard to win without your ace taking at least a game... Good run for CJ even though they fell short. I hope they tighten up and show their best from here on out!
