It was different during the offline portion when the players weren't in the EU timezone i was so confused what this was supposed to mean until i realized there was that recent post about ESL doing WCS AM now. so are they doing it in Europe? lol. Season 2 onward will be in LA, they couldnt do it there yet though

If we take all of the factors together it makes sense. This was put up in the last second so it was just easier to do it all in 1 go. Then since its in EU already you may as well put it up at an EU time to help player game quality. And then put it on the weekend so the early start time wont affect the NA watchers.

On April 06 2014 01:16 Schelim wrote: not complaining but why is this at a good time for EU? Because the players are in Germany. I guess they want to force them to play until 3-4am. EU usually has more viewers than US as well.

Games are starting at 5pm CET. On air talent and players might be okay with a later evening start, but the support staff and studio tech would all need to be there until the end of Bracket B. Nobody wants to work until 4am, and even with players' jetlag time changes, the quality of broadcast and games woudl suffer.

I'm in Florida and it's 12:25 PM, so for the Eastern half, yes. For the folks on the West Coast, the broadcast started at 8 in the morning.

West Coast fans are basically sub humans to most EU SC2 tournaments.
