I'm not sure what's going on in Prime, it looks like they've taken to heart the criticism about sending the same 4 players for a whole GSTL, and now they're going for diversity.

To be fair, Choya is a pretty decent player. I'm not too sure about his late game mechanics, but he's really good at executing timing pushes and all-ins, with all the micro and deceptiveness that requires. In the GSTL all star matches last year he beat a Hyvaa who had just been in code S ro16 - with an all-in on Yeonsu, yes, but the map is still in the pool so wth.

Then why you do not like Gerrard?

hopefully the new kespa membership + sponsorships help more with that, kassia shows some promise, although i find kal still very disappointing considering his first week. also, i'm optimistic about choya and cezzane bringing their experience too, although choya is more a player now.

So you think that Maru and Creator have become stars by themselves and all these team league wins (KSTL,.GSTL, IPTL) also came thx to MK, ByuN, Maru and Creator enthusiasm? StarTale has much worse results and the number of good players there can be compered to Prime Curious, Bomber, Squirtle + PartinG who came in ST already being good and Life who was crushing online when he was on ZeNEX. Also Prime has the same amount of team league wins as IM. Also people tend to forget that Polt also came from Prime + retired players Maka, HongUn, anypro have had good results. Compare to other eSF teams I can say that they are top 2 after IM. Maybe you can provide examples what Gerrard did wrong? I never saw any interview or some other thing where he was doing something wrong.

it's also not uncommon for gerrard to spend the day away from the training house and only visit now and them to make sure that the players are playing sc2 and not lol or whatever haha, and to manage the shop. and right now gerrard is in some ogn hearthstone thing haha. you never hear about the players saying that gerrard helped them with coaching or builds or whatever, unlike, say, FXO team. when prime prepares for important games all you hear is that they watch VODs, not that the coach helped them analyse or whatever. prime has a huge feeder clan, which helped out with their early wol results since they had a pretty big player recruitment pool, which allowed them to get a few nice talents on board. that's a fairly important thing about prime i guess, they're pretty tight-knit and all good friends. gerrard doesn't do things wrong per se, i just think he doesn't do as much as a good coach does or should. for me, it's just disappointing that he can't keep all his talent consistently at the top. new recruits and developing upcoming talent i can understand is hard when you have no funds, but that's a place where i think gerrard has done okay. while he didn't get new sponsors for a long time, i think primezzang did well for prime and it was really reliably managed. then again i could be wrong, but this is my impression after following prime for many years.

I see what you mean but my reason that I respect him is because Gerrard saved the team, found a new house, found sponsors or something silimilar to this (I think we can call their online store a source of funding) and let his players to travel to take part in foreign events. Yeah now Prime has problems with traveling but Gerrard did a great job for Prime in regards of helping players to feel comfortable in this team and do not leave it to find a foreign team I think the main thing is that he created some atmosphere where Prime players can feel and play comfortable. He may seem bad at coaching but good at managing is what I mean. I can also be wrong that all these things were done by him but from the front side it seems like he is a manager and responsible for all this stuff. I respect him and IM coach the most in eSF teams for above reasons.
