I hope you're not serious. This is Blizzard we're talking about here, they're not aware of anything. They probably received an estimated timetable for the event which is now running overtime and had scheduled a maintenance right after it. Nobody there was actually watching the tournament, they don't watch the games.
Yeah, I am. My perception of Blizzard is that an awful lot of them watch competitive play. Despite Blizzard's shortcomings, I don't have that little faith in their ability to plan around a major tournament. These major tournaments are a big part of the WCS system, even if they aren't directly run by Blizzard. And people keep saying it was "emergency" maintenance, which clearly implies to me that it wasn't scheduled. If it was, that's not on Blizzard at all, that's on IEM.
