On the maps where Protoss CAN'T just Blink All In you all day, they can do hyper greedy shit that is hard as fuck to counter.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was even remotely possible for Terran to counter greed with their own greed, but we know that isn't true, hasn't been in all of HoTS.

That's just playing safe against a third. There are some variations where Protoss juts follows up with a mass gate attack.

It's not a magical solution to every terran problem. It's not like terran can click on the OC and the problem goes away.

There's also the threat of a massive Gateway bust to consider.
Terran doesn't have Photon Overcharge, if they don't have units, they can't defend. It's as simple as that.
You can't be greedy as Terran as easily as you can with the other races. That's been true since Brood War.

He actually made a quick third for Hots standards upon scouting that gold base. People obviously expect terrans to get scouting info the moment protoss does an action... it just doesn't work that way. For example, on game on Frost, Classic forced a lift on Polts third base, didn't kill it so he must have known it flew away. But he didn't scout it and did nothing about it for ages. He was still in a good spot until he messed up that attack completely.

No he cannot really, because those Protoss fast thirds can easily transition into extremely strong timings/all-ins (they first came out like this in WoL, quick thirds into 8g on Daybreak). If you decide to skip units and go "full greed" with third and dual ups, you lose. If you take your third at a normal timing or even faster than usual, you're still behind because a Protoss getting away with a quick third, especially a gold, is much stronger.
First won Polt likewise with quick thirds at the WCS Season Finals, PartinG won Flash on Star Station in Proleague with the same kind of build. There's really nothing you can do if you don't have a fast Medivacs build.
