It was an over-extension, but normally zerg will be ahead in supply in the early game, terran will be ahead in the mid game and then both players should be close to max in the late game before major engagements. Supply swings very wildly in this match up, zerg can be down 20+ supply and still be just fine. It's all about hitting injects and upgrades. Edit: Hope going full JD with his mutas.

I thought Zerg was always naturally ahead in supply even in the mid-game. Thanks.

Extremely cheap bio and lings and banes only being 0.5 supply means terran will almost always be ahead. If you see a zerg with 20ish more supply, similar upgrades and the standard 1 base up with muta/ling vs bio, he is in a great spot. Scarlett often takes a late third and prioritizes upgrades, I've see her fight back from 40 supply deficits and win against Korean terrans.

Idra's commentary makes it even better. I really think Zerg can do some crazy shit vs bio with smaller forces, but it is EXTREMELY hard and requires perfect control. I just love this match up, it's so hard and rewards truly great players so well.
