Wasn't really referring to Avilo, more referring to HTOMario although I've seen Mech played well in some of the teamleagues I've casted at the NA GM level from less well known GMs. Specific names escape me atm though.

We also saw Mvp try a mech timing attack vs herO at IEM (right?). It was on Whirlwind, and it failed miserably

Like I said, it's not viable at the pro-level.

Nearly all of the best Protoss professionals are ex-BW players who don't panic when they see Mech being used, from what I've experienced most of Mech's viability at the levels below that vs Protoss comes from just a lack of experience Protoss players have against it.

It's viable. It's just there is no reason to use mech over bio, just like pre widow mine nerf and combine upgrade buff in tvz.
Bio is just better in most cases. But it certainly can work
We saw supernova winning with mech so at least it worked at pro level occasionally

If I told you a strategy was successful let's say.... 3 out of 25 times (and that's being generous) would you consider it viable?

It's not viable. It's not that Bio is better (which it is) Mech just has way too many weaknesses a good Protoss can exploit while having so few strengths to make it worth using.

The few times we've seen it employed successfully at the pro-Level it has been in timing attack all ins, most of which are only successful due to significant Hellion or Widow Mine damage done due to poor preparation or scouting from the Protoss.

That's not viability, that's fluke wins.

I am pretty sure for all Korea broadcasted tvp mech game. The win rate is higher than its lose rate.
Also don't forget mine drop is one opening for mech and also bio. The fact that the terran chooses mech as a follow up shows mech does have potential.

Love to see where you get THAT stat from.

I watch more Starcraft than is probably healthy and I think I've seen ONE Mech win in all of that time that wasn't the result of some kind of fluke damage done from Hellions or Widow Mines and I've NEVER seen it successful at the top levels of play.

Thing is, when you do that kind of damage it doesn't even matter what you follow it up with.

I watch a lot as well. I have seen it works with supernova and maru and wol some terran winning against oz in pl. I don' t really rmb any other than Mvp tried mech in tvp and failed in Korea level.
I think you are mistaken for things like if he loses so many probes then it doesn't matter what he used to kill him.
The hellion opening is an opening to help transitioning into mech.
It's just like mass blueflame hellion runby. These builds are great openings for mech.
