I'm a bit concerned for my lovely PartinG, but i guess he can do it. soO got his lovely Frost against Protoss and after that two losses, Soulkey can even drop Yeonsu just to see how Rain will dominate in PvP.

I actually watched that redeye and macinally cast, the cast was epic, but the gameplay didn't impress me. I tried to watch some fifa on esl several times before. Maybe I'm not good enough to see the difference between the pros and my friends who are really good a fifa.
Last time Wolf said the players don't play more than 5 games the day before PL, so they are rested. Now he says he's sure TY was up all night practicing :D.

Inno has been the most consisten terran during hots No1 terran first half of 2013 and was still sick good in second half always a threat. And to your statement he wasnt as dominant towards the end of 2013 Maru and Taeja were not even on the radar at the beginning of 2013 whereas Inno had been all year

wow, Parting looking really dominant. Flash's build is really really safe - I wonder if the opening means that he can't punish that early 3rd base at all? Regardless, Parting played really well.
Brilliant game from Parting! His stargate was scouted and he got into a really bad position strategy-wise. But he outmicroed Flash when defending the harass and had perfect army movement to buy time for storms. It's one of those games that 99% of Protoss players couldn't pull off. Flash just beat emotion from a very similar position last week.

It does. Parting accepted he'd be down in upgrades but was able to power up his gate count because of it.
Flash always gets a sick fast ebay to have 1/1 with his medivac pressure and turrets in time for oracles or dt's, but his unit count in the early/midgame is crazy low until medivacs are out. Parting just scouted that with his oracle and responded perfectly.

What timings?
Before Storm was finished was the obvious one. But he could have gone for a heavy upgrade style, Parting's upgrades were pretty behind. He could have gotten an early third and he didn't. He let Parting get away with three-base play.

flash actually was in a good position to punish it. he had +1 and stim. he could have just pulled back with his little bio force (instead of losing it for free), wait for medvacs and then shu shu to shut down partings blink stalker heavy comp edit: with really late aoe.

I kinda agree. That looked like, Protoss threat is so huge early on that flash plays ultra safe. And this safety doesnt let the terran punish a fast third... Well, that looks really imbalanced from my zerg point of view ^^

He couldn't get a fast 3rd because of the threat of Oracles and blink all-in, he was forced to get the follow up 2 rax because he saw the masses of GWs, and even if he hadn't lost his initial force, he wouldn't have had enough to break the 3rd, because of the masses of GW and PO. Basically it was sort of a build order win, every choice Flash would have made would have been a bad one.

then he dies even more stupidly. He chose an anti blink build, Parting being more intelligent than your average T just capitalized on it instead of playing in Flash's hands, insta bo advantage that is as close as a bo win that you can get.
Every P just played in T hands so far, took a while before they realized their all in were countered before the game begun considering the builds T have been playing.

Building your third passively after Protoss' third means you lose as well, either to a massive Gateway timing or simply because you can't inflict any kind of damage with your lower unit count and thus Protoss develops freely and steamrolls you later.

You will have to hold your third base with 3 rax against time warp blinker stalkers from 8 gates on a map where its hard to get good engagements.

Flash has no excuse. He scouted 3rd Nexus pretty much immediatly and waited for his death. HT were nowhere ready, Oracle was not even a threat at home because he had turret and there is no way photon overcharge can cover for all Nexus since Parting used a timewarp early. He could have been so much more active like dropping even just to force photon overcharge in main or natural and kitting the gateway units forever (well at least until storm is ready) with stim and/or concussive. Hell he could also have taken a 3rd in reaction or pulled SCV. He did not even try anything, that's what killed him.

I'm not watching this game, but is someone losing vs mass phoenix? Because there used to be a strat I'd occasionally go up against of mass cannons + phoenixes and until I learned how strong the queen was I used to get slaughtered by going mass hydra vs it

i think there's a difference when a zerg just wants to win like in real tournaments or they just want to play a fun game on ladder. on ladder it keeps creating very awesome games from my experience so far

The guy Catz played actually held it off with some nice micro, aided by Catz's apparent unwillingness to kill anything too important. I'm not sure we can draw too many conclusions from that game, it was kind of...yeah.

You need overlords and 3 spines. Send overlords to spread creep and root spines to kill them off. With that formation of turrets, I don't think they can move back.

That was the most beautiful game I've seen in a very long time. Its rare that I see someone exploit every single feature of the map so thoroughly and efficiently. After the Flash vs PartinG game I didn't think anything could brink a smile to my face, but TY just did!

Nah it was an abusable spot for sure but that makes it interesting, and if you know terran is annoying with tanks on the map, field a terran and get tanks of your own

Tanks were there fast enough that lings can't break down the rocks since Soulkey didn't expect it, with all the lings he had he could have easily killed all the rocks on the map before TY dropped there.

The map is fine. It's just that TY is a superior player compared to Soulkey + with his double maka rax he made Soulkey not to have Mutalisk thus making that spot OP. But in a normal game mutas are out way before the terran could drop so the map is fine IMO. It's just that TY knows it in and out and he knew his lead and position.

Nah it was an abusable spot for sure but that makes it interesting, and if you know terran is annoying with tanks on the map, field a terran and get tanks of your own
Yeah, it was a good preparation from TY, finding that spot. And bad decision from SKT to field a zerg, they probably did not study this spot. Now we have seen this and teams will think twice before fielding a zerg here.

Because correlation is between KT winning and Flash losing and not between Flash winning and team losing. Flash can gather a decent WL from ace matches.

Actually, from what I've seen (didn't follow that game thoroughly enough), that build looked a lot like the aptly name "Myungsik build" (3sg mass phenix with zel/sentry pressure (but I don't know how many sgs there were this time or what was the timing of the third)) which was quite popular among the hipster protosses and on the ladder for some time. Artosis used to practice it a lot on stream.
But I agree with you, trying to "snipe" for the ace match versus SKT is a hell of a job since they have at least three go-to player for the spot (I want to believe in SK's ability to stay at the top both in term of quality and consistency).

Actually it was Bio-Tank, however the manner in which TY utilized the map to his advantage was very well though out. Nice game overall, you don't see that often.

2 rax bunker rush killed SK's natural. In fact TY finished his 3rd CC at the same time SK finished rebuilding his natural. It was well played by TY, but I don't see any reason for hype on this game ^^

I don't think he made that many mistakes, it's just that he doesn't have the flair needed to beat such a strong Protoss. He was doing everything "by the book", and lost 5-6 too many units for free early on, and never could came back from that. I think we've gotten a bit too used to Maru's TvP over there :D. TvP is currently a very hard matchup at that level, Flash didn't play awful, he just didn't play godly enough to win.

He played standard, thwarted the first attack perfectly, attempted to quickly capitalize on a unprotected third but was crushed by a 1-click cannon and anti micro spells (cant even micro your units as terran, hows he supposed to be god), then he was trapped in his base for half the game until he could finally leave his base with a teir 2 army against a teir 3 massive aoe and splash damage.
He seemed very mediocre because TvP is utter garbage. Give flash forcefields, massive aoe and 1 click shutdown all aggression, and then we will talk about how mediocre he is when he loses.

I would say he pretty much did nothing all game long :D Its weird to say, but he lacks some very important skills to be a top terran i feel. But yeah Terrans like Maru and recently TY spoiled me i guess

I just caught up on some of the vods. I really enjoyed the MyungsiK game. To be so far behind initially, and then not just to win but to win emphatically on the strength of Phoenix usage was cool. I really enjoyed that midgame engagement where a few hardy Zealots and Sentries engaged the Zerg with the Phoenix flying above their heads.
As to Parting vs Flash, all I have to say is, what a stomp! Good heavens, Flash got smashed.
TY vs SK was cool. But, abusing the map and all, the game felt won after the proxy 2 rax and bunker rush.

I don't remember it ever happens. But KT Rolster has too much of a predictable roster. Teams that have high amounts of player can easily field 3unknown / B-Teamer his sniper strats (well... They would not do that) but it's quite easy to snipe one player out of KT as they're always the same.
Also, Benching Flash would have a big effect on other team i would feel. But i'm not sure Flash would accept it as a Strategy but more as a defeat 'cause like opterown said, well. I don't think he has ever been benched.

Flash won't be benched but even if he is I wouldn't really sweat it. Both as a Flash and a KT fan. If anything I'm hoping Parting's ruler ceremony and the EZPZ way he lost will give him some fire again. Was kind of glad Parting did that as a Flash fan.

It makes sense that they would try out their other players. Since it's Bo5 now. The match versus Parting was kind of disgusting but it was kind of a Bo win so i don't know.
If Action is fielded and make good results. They could try to send Sleep to see if he can make it etc... and they would have to not send one of the 4player that KT always send (Flash,TY,Zest and Stats).
But they could bench him and send him to the Ace match. I know he had more wins in PL last season. I'm always defending people that says he is a bad player.
What i wanted to say is if Action does good versus Protoss player (for exemple) it may be wiser to chose Action to play ZvP than Flash playing TvP. But you are right when you say he lost versus good players (and the match with Sora was kind of close).
But the ruler ceremony might tip him off and we all know that Flash is a player that does LOTS of practice. He is one of the hardest worker in Starcraft and have always been. I'm not worried that Flash will get more results. Because he had a good start with 3/2. I was more thinking of a coach choice.

That's what i have trouble to figure out. Because it's BO5 i can't figure out if they will keep the same player over and over again or if they are going to try other players (not for the sake of it). But if they feel they are good to be send. I think that's what they trying with action. he might have a build prepare for that map and they want to test it out.
Also the fact that they fielded a Zerg can be also to remind people that they can send a Zerg and that the other team needs to practice against Zerg as well.

It was a ceremony to convey cuteness. He made round little circles with those tangerines right? He was doing a cute little motion with that. It's a common cutesy thing in Korea. The term used to describe something like this is 귀요미 (gwiyomi) which translates into doing something very cutesy.
