Well, the truth is that while with or without LAN, the DDOS problem is solvable given the right network equipment, with LAN, the solution is technically easier. In the extreme case, you can isolate the streaming PC from the rest of the network, connect it to the local server on a different physical interface and let it be the ony thing online (preferably firewalled so that it connects just to the streaming server and nothing else). But you can do a similar thing with the playing PCs, just let them connect to B.net and nothing else, but you need dedicated hardware with high throughput to do that (filtering packets on the PC itself does not solve anything).
