this is becoming a serious rivalry. i just wish Bomber would be more on the winning side t.t

He was today, technically. Unfortunately he won the 3 games, that were less worth than the other 3 games.

Why do we always have people whining about the GSL group format, when their favorite player loses? Can you just face it that there is no optimal solution and that everything can be used to argue that "X lost because of bad format"?

- round robin groups cause meaningless games for some players. Thus, a player who gets to play someone who doesn't care anymore, gets an advantage and the outcome is dependent on the luck in the order the games are played.

- pure single elimination tourneys are completely dependent on the luck of the draw for the oponent

- any other system takes either too long or is completely messed up for the viewer

Well, he isn't wrong. It didn't come across as whining to me, just observation.

Because Plexa told me in various tournament, not to have this discussion in the LR; would you be interested in getting a PM with my detailed thoughts about it? I´d be open for that, but it takes time to write it, so I would only invest the effort, if you are interested.

Isn't there a good thread to dicsuss this somewhere then? I kinda feel it wasteful faving you write a PM just for me to read, but I would gladly join a conversation in a relevant thread.

Maybe we can come up with some sort of system where the games played previously help you out if you face the same player again. Instead of playing two separate series, their record could carry over, and it would be like they were in a single series that was extended. I can't think of a good name for it, but I bet the whole community would really get behind that format.
