Taeja has been one of the best players in the world for years. Life is amazing but for me he needs another year to be one of the greats imo

Taeja is better imo at his best, but it's so close that it might as well be even. Watch IPL TAC 3 (remember when he trashed your favorite team?)

Last time Taeja played Life when they were both at their best, Life made Taeja look like a scrub.

Taeja was not at his best then. He had already started to fall off. That was like the week after he had lost TWICE to crank at MLG. He hadn't fallen completely off but it was definetly not his clear cut best. And also lets be honest that was when Zerg was starting to be kind of broken. The rest of the GSLs that year were all incredibly Zerg favored and all won by zergs and the finals of the rest of GSLs were all ZvZs.

Life won a GSL at his best, Taeja didn't, the end.

Right because Terrans were raking in the GSLs at the end of WoL. Oh wait not a single one won since 2012 s2. Oh and the only terran that was consistently making the ro8 was Taeja.

People get stuck on who wins too much. Balance isn't decided solely by which race wins the finals, because no matter how many finals you play the sample size over time will be too small to matter.

What an achievement with Zerg at the end of WoL!

You're one of two things:

1) An inconsolable terran whiner
2) Ignorant of the way Life won most of his games

Both annoy me.

Or your fanboyism blinds you. But you can keep closing your eyes and pretend being Zerg at the end of WoL didn't help in winning tournaments.

Tbh, after watching TaeJa vs Soulkey from last WoL GSL Ro32 i am more than convinced that beating someone with muta ling bane in late WoL is not a large achievement at top level of play. Just because of map domination with dem queens and tanks being absolute crap.

I thought it was agreed upon that Life put an end to Taeja's reign by beating him in both GSL and MLG for a combined 7-0. After all, Taeja was very convincing that entire season, only losing to Rain (who happened to beat every Terran not named Mvp at the time) before hitting Life. I mean, there were very few players that could hold a candle to Taeja at the time, as evidenced by his performances throughout summer and somewhere into early winter.

Yes, Life's dominance started when Taeja's had ended but Taeja was declining with wrist injury and fatigue before they played, he was losing to vortix and other not very good players. Taeja was the only Terran who was doing well in TvZ playing standard bio Tank (not Mvp's mech all ins for 1 gsl season) with 80%+ W/R.

Yes, it was an achievement with zerg even at the end of WoL. My god people's memories of that time are so clouded its ridiculous.

Quite on the contrary, I do remember very well HyuN vs Sniper followed by RorO vs Symbol as finals.

Indeed. And?

MVP was a scrub too because he used imba Terran during GomTvT? Just a ridiculous argument.

I mean, there were very few players that could hold a candle to Taeja at the time, as evidenced by his performances throughout summer and somewhere into early winter.

I think people that say he was still at his best are delusional. He was already falling off and the MLG really shows it. Taeja at the top of his game doesn't drop series to Crank. Top class Taeja would have dismantled crank back then. Also Taeja had lost I think 1-3 to First or some IM toss in the TSL. He was not the top like he was during the IPL TAC. To say he was his best for that ro4 match is like saying Life was best at DH Bucharest (not saying he was). That was when Life started to come back to strength. That GSL ro4 match and the MLG were when Taeja was falling from his top form.

Also I know Life didn't abuse the complete bullshit of Broodlord infestor but you can't just ignore that every terran player had to play with the knowledge that they had almost no chance if the game went late. It forced terrans to play differently which helps Life even if he didn't directly use that style.

I hope Happy delivers in his tournament ( he is at IEM isnt he?), because both foreign terrans didnt win a map here TT
someone really needs to step in T-Funks shoes, he was the last foreign T to win a big tournament if i remmember correctly, and it wasnt even THAT big
(Somewhere early 2012 vs Polt wasnt it?)

And yeah, that attack by Hero was..not optimal
