Oh and the only terran that was consistently making the ro8 was Taeja. People get stuck on who wins too much. Balance isn't decided solely by which race wins the finals, because no matter how many finals you play the sample size over time will be too small to matter.

But you can keep closing your eyes and pretend being Zerg at the end of WoL didn't help in winning tournaments.

Tbh, after watching TaeJa vs Soulkey from last WoL GSL Ro32 i am more than convinced that beating someone with muta ling bane in late WoL is not a large achievement at top level of play. Just because of map domination with dem queens and tanks being absolute crap.

After all, Taeja was very convincing that entire season, only losing to Rain (who happened to beat every Terran not named Mvp at the time) before hitting Life. I mean, there were very few players that could hold a candle to Taeja at the time, as evidenced by his performances throughout summer and somewhere into early winter. Yes, Life's dominance started when Taeja's had ended but Taeja was declining with wrist injury and fatigue before they played, he was losing to vortix and other not very good players. Taeja was the only Terran who was doing well in TvZ playing standard bio Tank (not Mvp's mech all ins for 1 gsl season) with 80%+ W/R.

I mean, there were very few players that could hold a candle to Taeja at the time, as evidenced by his performances throughout summer and somewhere into early winter. I think people that say he was still at his best are delusional. He was already falling off and the MLG really shows it. Taeja at the top of his game doesn't drop series to Crank. Top class Taeja would have dismantled crank back then. Also Taeja had lost I think 1-3 to First or some IM toss in the TSL. He was not the top like he was during the IPL TAC. To say he was his best for that ro4 match is like saying Life was best at DH Bucharest (not saying he was). That was when Life started to come back to strength. That GSL ro4 match and the MLG were when Taeja was falling from his top form. Also I know Life didn't abuse the complete bullshit of Broodlord infestor but you can't just ignore that every terran player had to play with the knowledge that they had almost no chance if the game went late. It forced terrans to play differently which helps Life even if he didn't directly use that style.
