He's painted himself as a target and In SC2 the way it works is if your on the radar it's much too easy to go in and dissect your play. Sadly, winning this championship was the worst thing Dear could have done for his chances. Plus he has the guy that 3-0'd Rain in the Season 2 finals as his first opponent. ;o

Dear wont be figured out too dynamic. The thing is you can't point to some gimmick he is relying on, Parting had Soultrain, SOS had the crazy DT zealot archon stargate timing weirdness, Hero is addicted to fancy plays and Rain is too predictable. Dear is just super solid with great macro/micro/decision making.

He said he put a lot of efforts in his GSL win (and I assume in this one). How long can he keep on training like a madman like this?

His path to victory shall be Taeja > Alive > Maru/Innovation > MMA/Polt

Dear is just super solid with great macro/micro/decision making. Well, problem with Dear is that he kinda has help from PartinG, sOs and Rain and probably even some sort of HerO's playstyle study. So he ends up being to Korean toss what Maru is to Prime.

I disagree, Dear has shown that his play is very dynamic and can play on the fly with pretty damn good mechanics. + Just look at soulkey, soulkey was on the radar yet he's been placing ro8 and higher since 2012 http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Soulkey/Results

Sadly, winning this championship was the worst thing Dear could have done for his chances. That has happened to players in the past because in the past the best players had play that was innovative and changed the metagame. Stephanos roach max, Partings Soul Train, even the super safe solid play of Rain itself showed how you could play macro Protoss. Innovation's parade push ZvP, and on and on. Those were all things that got "figured out" by their peers. Dear doesn't do some build or strategy that needs figuring out, he just can do all the builds better than everyone else. He has sublime decision making and understanding of timings as well. This sounds like stuff we've heard for past guys, but I think he could be the next Mvp type player

The biggest issue with peak viewership with American tournaments is the finals are always on at such a bad time for Europe so the viewers always trail off ![]()

Taeja has great TvP, should be an awesome series. But Taeja is a master of ghosts, and actually likes going to late game, so it will be very different. I expect some cheese from Dear.
