lichter's notes: I am currently writing a FAQ for LR threads, to be included at the bottom of each LR. Mostly I want it to address questions regarding LR threads, as well as questions about becoming LR OPs. Please look through the FAQ and PM me with ideas to improve it. TY!
Volunteer! All you have to do is check if there's already a thread for the tournament, or if anyone is scheduled to make the thread. If there isn't a thread and no one is scheduled to do it, you can become the LR OP! We are always looking for new people to help out, especially for WCS AM and EU.
Being the LR thread OP is hard work, but it's also fulfilling. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people check the LR thread every day, and it is a valuable resource to the community. It's a simple way of supporting SC2, the game we all presumably love :p
Now that I've decided to be a LR OP, what do I do? + Show Spoiler +
Next, read up a little on bbcode and familiarize yourself with it. It helps to look at the code for previous LR OPs.
Finally, check your schedule. Are you SURE you'll be around for the duration of the tournament? Are you sure you'll be able to update in a timely manner?
If everything checks out and you've done all of the above, all you have to do is make the thread!
Where can I find previous LR OPs, as well as LR resources? + Show Spoiler +
LRing is tough work, and only a handful of people do it regularly. The most famous ones are Shellshock and The_Templar, but occasionally other people (such as packrat, Yello, etc) do it as well. If no one is available to do it, then there is no LR. Again, we need more volunteers. Anyone who watches games regularly and types really, really fast has qualifications to become an LRer.
All you have to do is write out what happens during the game. It doesn't need to be complete, but it should be a good summary of the entire game. Supply counts, timings, build orders, and major events are typically what receive priority in LRs. You can read more LRs by Shellshock and The_Templar for a better idea of how to do it.

I am not good enough to control Phoenix properly, but their range advantage is so insane that I can autofollow them all onto a single Phoenix and only control that one. But I actually just like it because it feels like I am using a flail.
But Mutas are pretty unfair in huge numbers and stacked. Your phoenix kill one due to them attacking all one target, Mutas kill 3 Phoenix due to the bounce. Thats why its also pretty stupid to blink everything at once under Mutas. All your Stalkers will just overkill like crazy. As could be seen in the last match heh.

with harass i mean when vortix mutas attacked him over and over again he could have sent zealots to the 4th and 5th there was no defense whatsoever, but he did it too late. crying about the map doesn't help either he could have vetoed it.

Phoenix can't harass a Zerg, Zerg just builds more then Phoenix can kill. All you can do is snipe valuable units to equalize their cost. And he did get some money snipes. They are also there to deny scouting though, which he failed miserably. Which didn't allowed him to harass bases in the end, because Vortix eco just exploded.

His build was messed up as he didn't go for a 2 base all in. So he had no choice but to play greedy and hope that Thorzain makes a big mistake.
It was crucial that MCs observer did not scout the third base being built. When it came into the base, the cc had just started to move to its mining location. That might have misled MC into deciding not to pull his 2base allin, but wait for Thorzains (earlier) SCV pull. He couldn't know that Thorzain would pull on 3base.
What about this interpretation of MCs loss? I mean, Thorzain was so passive..

Nah, if he knew where Babyknight was it would have been a way more convincing win, the MSc just had enough energy for Photon Overcharge when MC came it very very late.
I kind of get the arguments that round robin is more fair, but double elimination is still fair and makes sense (lose two series and you're out) and at least makes more sense than extended series.
A day of WCS matches is already really long though, I don't think the benefits of round robin outweigh adding a potentially meaningless Bo3 and possible tiebreakers, not to mention the possibility of throwing games to teammates.

Don´t worry, that was just one of the popular opinion back than, everyone was called a "patchzerg" at that time; Scarlett, Nerchio (who was around since 2010), Life, Symbol... Noone really thinks, that Vortix is a "patchzerg", probably not even Stephano himself.

That's not how double elimination works. Thorzain's advantage from the first win came in getting to play through the winner's side rather than the losers. By the time they got to the final match, they were back on equal footing.

Thorzain didn't play the '0-2' guy, and MC didn't play the '2-0' guy (skill should be correlated to this IMO). Is it fair that the order matters?

Not to mention, what Thorzain gets from winning the first match is staying in the winner's bracket, going to the winner's match, while MC falls to the loser's bracket. People always jump at the head to head thing, but ignore the overall Bo3 performance, as well as the winner/loser's bracket dynamic. But there are many facets to the group format, you can basically find a number of good and bad things.

I accept that randomness is part of any scenario (there is a draw in all systems) but in DH/IEM you don't meet the same guy from RO64 in RO16. So it's not only the draw.

It's not the only one. You can qualify by beating the worst in the group (0-2) and not having to meet the best in the group (2-0) with a 2-3 score against the remaining player (1-1, 2-3 in games).
Some people are OK with this, but I'm not.
The same can be said for Dreamhack/MLG/IEM Round 64 players where you can get into Round 16 without playing the best players either. So many people QQing because a Korean advanced over an European. If it was the other way around, no one would give a fuck and make these sorry excuses.
I accept that randomness is part of any scenario (there is a draw in all systems) but in DH/IEM you don't meet the same guy from RO64 in RO16. So it's not only the draw.
I couldn't care less of who advanced, I think neither showed to be worth of a WCS Europe champion.

MC plays riskier than Polt, but that is about all. Take that last game for example: MC won it, because ThorZaIN had overinvested a lot of minerals into bunkers, that weren´t helpful at the angle, that MC choose to attack from, he had his marines on move command once I think and he lot´s of SCV´s doing nothing at a time, were they were´nt neccessarily needed to repair bunkers (I think there was even a bunch, sitting at the ramp, that was not in the bunker area) and he constantly let MC supply-block him.
MC´s TvP might have been not the most beatiful thing in the last series, but he won because he forced ThorZaIN to make mistakes, not because of balance issues and absolutely deserved to win the second series. Whether or not that series should have been played is another question...

Also the previous season was the same. Sadly imo it seems to be getting worse and worse, the Europeans show they can beat the Koreans, but despite advancing every time second of the group, and often barely, they do advance every time and in the end there are barely Europeans left in WCS EU.
It was like that in the previous season, and it looks to be the same in this season.
