Show me one terran progamer who ever pre-emptively placed a bunker in his natural's mineral line when scouting a gateway allin. Just one. Then I'll approve that.

I agree though that those two bunkers were misplaced. He could've created a bunker concave, but that would've blocked his SCVs from repair a bit.

It's probably better to sacrifice repair surface area for extra firepower.


So you're building those bunkers to provide additional hitpoints. Then you're telling me you sacrifice those additional hitpoints for firepower? Wait a sec.

I'm telling you that if you shoot from 4 bunkers instead of 2, the other guy will lose units faster and thus do less dps against your bunkers.


And I agree with you once stimpack is finished. But I do not agree with you before that breakpoint.

They also provide range and help vs forcefields, and as the first bunker falls you get extra surface area.


I get the idea of that, but since the zealots attack the first bunker (mainly), isn't the bunker for creating surface area for the other bunkers that can shoot at the zealots straight away? I mean, we're talking about ranged terran vs. half melee half ranged protoss. So creating surface area for dps shouldn't be a task for the terran, but even more for the protoss. Terran should try to keep enough surface for repair instead, especially regarding forcefields being thrown here and there (though Stardusts attack would've been even deadlier with like 1-2 sentries more in)



Should test it out! With no evidence, I stick with the pro players answer and believe bunkers in a line is the better choice.

Also, leaving bunkers in a line doesn't mean that you wont have surface area. You can leave a gap between each bunker.
