lichter's notes: I am currently writing a FAQ for LR threads, to be included at the bottom of each LR. Mostly I want it to address questions regarding LR threads, as well as questions about becoming LR OPs. Please look through the FAQ and PM me with ideas to improve it. TY!
Volunteer! All you have to do is check if there's already a thread for the tournament, or if anyone is scheduled to make the thread. If there isn't a thread and no one is scheduled to do it, you can become the LR OP! We are always looking for new people to help out, especially for WCS AM and EU.
Being the LR thread OP is hard work, but it's also fulfilling. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people check the LR thread every day, and it is a valuable resource to the community. It's a simple way of supporting SC2, the game we all presumably love :p
Now that I've decided to be a LR OP, what do I do? + Show Spoiler +
Next, read up a little on bbcode and familiarize yourself with it. It helps to look at the code for previous LR OPs.
Finally, check your schedule. Are you SURE you'll be around for the duration of the tournament? Are you sure you'll be able to update in a timely manner?
If everything checks out and you've done all of the above, all you have to do is make the thread!
Where can I find previous LR OPs, as well as LR resources? + Show Spoiler +
LRing is tough work, and only a handful of people do it regularly. The most famous ones are Shellshock and The_Templar, but occasionally other people (such as packrat, Yello, etc) do it as well. If no one is available to do it, then there is no LR. Again, we need more volunteers. Anyone who watches games regularly and types really, really fast has qualifications to become an LRer.
All you have to do is write out what happens during the game. It doesn't need to be complete, but it should be a good summary of the entire game. Supply counts, timings, build orders, and major events are typically what receive priority in LRs. You can read more LRs by Shellshock and The_Templar for a better idea of how to do it.

He might need parental permission for his photo to be shown on stream every time they display his card.

He could just ask the NSA for his photo's as its under legal law to be able to get it....Hahahah I'm fucking with you. It's law that he can get it, but if he actually did ask he'd be put on a blacklist as potential terrorist and still not get the photo.

Hero did some early agression killed a few scvs, Hero went oracle and killed 5 scvs, HerO went phoenixes , normal 3 base vs 3 base and then Heart pulled scvs before Hero had too many colossus out.

man, why are these guys rambling a lot? I know they have to cover for time but it was really irritating. Am I the only one who feels this way? lol. Either way, HerO played that game pretty badly. Losing that MSc then donating 6 stalkers etc... Heart made good on HerO's mistakes imo.

If I was a pro player, I think I would borrow a friend's bronze account and then heavily skew the percentage in favor of the race I want to get nerfed so that race gets nerfed.

Can someone say how the game was going up to the point Jim disconnected? I caught the casters saying Jim was in trouble (before the disconnect happened), but how serious was it?

he could have held that he wouldnt have died, he probably would have lost some units/probes though
Now this kind of sucks for Heart, despite the fact he was about to win, because Jim now knows exactly what was about to happen- that he was about to get rolled by a huge army. Jim can now warp in sentries or get the mothership core in position, etc.

Jim had two stalkers, one sentry and one zealot against 12 -15 marines marauders. Of course he also had the mothership core to maybe defend the nexus for a while. But even then his three gateways were about halfway done...I'm not sure he really could have done much.
I mean even if he did use photon overcharge he can just go up the ramp easily...which is what heart was actually doing instinctively anyway. I honestly think the game was lost to any objective observer, heart should have won.
But I wouldn't mind if they loaded the game from the replay, since nothing is really gained/lost
edit: Aah rotterdam made the obvious point. Just force field the ramp and photon overcharge the nexus

He was powering really hard at that moment, throwing down more gateways and other buildings. He didn't have an army at that time because of his decision-making, not because he couldn't make anything (his resources were still being used).

Well it seems that they're making the best out of a crappy situation. The decision ends up being slightly in Jim's favor, but hopefully Heart will still win again anyway lol

he may have been alt tabbed to see what was wrong, or had a lot of lag on his side and couldn't do anything, only he knows. either way they should have paused right after the disconnect screen went away

They should just watch the replay to see when Jim's actions stopped and went to 0 APM. If it's pretty close to the lag screen time and not a huge amount of time before Heart entered Jim's vision, then start from there.

With enough lag, it can happen that the game has resumed for everyone but the lagging player, and when it resumes for him the game skips to the actual time.
It has happened to me before, but doesn't last more than a few seconds.

WCS Korea actually requires you to show up physically to play in the Code A qualifiers. Heart, ironically, is the one who would be playing in WCS Korea if we're going by locality.
And a lot of us love Jim and want the Chinese SC2 scene to grow, so when there are technical glitches like this, why WOULDN'T you want to try and find the fair & balanced (sorry Fox News) solution in this case?
Imagine if this happened to Liquid`Hero, or even Axiom.Heart. I would want at least a resume from replay for Heart's benefit, if it looked like he lagged out.
The real question here is at what point you should do the resume from replay. I think Heart should also have the option of choosing a re-game, if he felt that his build order was already revealed after the lag out and it wasn't worth it to resume.

Quit focusing on what isnt important here. What IS important is that Heart is getting a raw deal anyway you slice it win or lose.
like i said the observer was going to see the units anyway. reaction is still the same; overcharge and pull units back slightly and forcefield ramp if he tries to go up

They decided to re-game from the DC screen. This time Jim pushed the marines back.

Jim had a drop prompt immediately before Heart's push. He doesn't drop, but makes no actions and Heart kills his whole econ during the downtime.

Heart was about to attack jim had like 4 units plus msc Jims observer saw the attack right before it lagged out, they thought Jim was back after the lag screen went off but he wasnt back from the lag yet, he lost the game at that point they resumed at 8:30 or so. When the game resumed jim held off the push easily without losing anything

There is a difference between playing bad due to lag (no excuses), and not playing due to lag. The situation described can happen, for a few seconds.
And it's also clearer when the lag screen pops up and the observer can see literally no actions from Jim's POV. Imagine if there was just lag and no Bnet screen, and Jim said after the game that he lagged out. Then it would be a case of, "sorry, Jim, but there's nothing we could have done."

Jim started lagging (lag screen), and then the lag screen disappeared but Jim wasn't able to move for a few seconds. During that time, Heart attacked Jim and essentially killed him (Heart's army was much bigger).
They ended up resuming from before Jim got attacked, and now Jim held Heart's attack.

^ he plays the same style in PvT with colossi+phoenix. It's interesting but as we saw, if you can get a good balance as Terran (or he overcommits to one or the other) then its GG.
