the only thing I'm comparing is that they are/were hyped to insane levels without ever winning anything and it tooks a full year of tournaments for lucifron's hype train to finally die off. Everyone said " Lucifron is the best player in Europe " forever, everyone says Flash is one of the best players in Korea even though he's yet to pass the ro16 in GSL.

I know in season 2 he got the hardest group, but can't remember season 1. Either way he's still way overhyped and with how many people expected flash to actually win this tournament blew my mind. He was insanely good in bw, but he's no where near that level in sc2 as of right now. Some of the players he lost to today also (to me) showed he's not anywhere near as good as people think he is. No offense to Dimaga/yugioh, but I feel flash should be able to beat both of them no problem but he actually lost and just looked bad (versus yugioh game 3 anyway, I did not watch dimaga games and did see game 2 of yugioh vs flash which was just failed all in).
