Yeah but I had assumed (maybe foolishly?) that MVP paid for his travel.
Meh, macro game failed? Stick to the what you know best, a 2 base son! Soo boring and predictable, I was more surpised when I saw 3rd protoss base in game 1.

Good thing that you can keep the diversity going by making this unbelievably original TL post.

Standard 4gate pressure, in WoL a spine was always super helpful

Not his fault when TLO fails pretty hard against a very common and known pressure timing...

One statement here is correct:
1) Macro is the only skillful way to play 2) Your comment is stupid

It's a complete dice roll, though. It's pretty hard to scout reliably, and if not scouted, it is pretty guaranteed to do critical damage.

Yeah by going personal. I think I am just damn frustrated at the current state of the game.

The state in which Zerg won the last 3 ZvP in WCS, and TLO could bring it to 4 in a row?

he was in duckducks base and saw the gateway expand, and even pressured the front pylon at the natural/saw gasses earlier - he had all the info.

Its really not about balance, its about how the game is played.

it is not about winning he complains, i guess i actually love PvZ but there are too many 2base allins in my opinion
Wow, this is very similar to the first game: TLO destroys the 3rd, Duckdeok goes for the counter allin and nearly breaks TLO, but TLO gets out a new tech just in time... But its far from over yet, now TLO needs to find an answer for the collosus

no it was not as similar as you make it out to be, duckduck went for the extremely fast and greedy 3rd here - though it got cancelled and not killed and in response he attacked while TLO pressured and droned behind.

it was not just the one missed pylon... behind all the pressure he went for a greedy 4th and that's why he was also relatively low on units when duckducks first attack hit...

Actually it does at diamond, I do a variation of this about every game and it's reaaaaally easy (mostly because diamond zergs scout really poorly for some reason)

Happy should take 1st place in group unless Artosis comes in or SaSe goes full duckdeok (as in takes really greedy 3rds, you are not going to kill Happy with all-in anytime soon :D).

Ah, I can tell you whats happening from here: TLO wont make it out of this group, most Zergs will not make it out of their group, we will have a 4 Terran 4 Toss Ro8 and a full Korean Blizzcon with maybe 1 single Zerg in it.

Damn it must have been so tough for you zergs, having to sit through three consecutive groups of zergs not losing before you can start whining again Oo

To be fair a lot of Protoss rely on cheap blind gambles like this, but obviously not all of them, with Rain being the most legit player.

Well I just wanted to bring attention to what games we get from protoss players who really dictate their matchups. I am not saying we dont get crappy games from other races but this is too much. First duck now this. Also with all my hate against P I still cheer for Rain he is amazing.

no foreign protoss in 2012 deserved best foreign protoss reward. In 2011 and 2013 too :D. mouz best foreign team 2011? mouz is kinda best foreign-only team 2011, not foreign team /sarcasm

No, Sase. This has shit to do with Rain, Hurricane or any other good Protoss - this was Sase's mistake, it has nothing to do with Protoss players in general ^^
Well I just wanted to bring attention to what games we get from protoss players who really dictate their matchups. I am not saying we dont get crappy games from other races but this is too much. First duck now this. Also with all my hate against P I still cheer for Rain he is amazing.
It's a bit harder for the protoss players to produce good games when the requirement for a good game played by protoss is: - no 2-base all-in, that's shitty. - no 3-base play, that's deathball boring. - no zealot warp-in, storm, voidrays or tempests, that's op. - no cheese, that's gay. - never attack, that's cheese.

I don't know about his competitive status there but I think that he is in Taiwan simply because he really likes to be there. Pretty cool of Fnatic to let him do his thing and support him like that (assuming that it would be more in their interest to have him located in Europe due to sponsors and stuff).

What the fuck was that? Force fielding the ramp at the third for no reason, instead of attacking the natural, stacking up 4 observers, not bringing a probe/MSC with recall etc...

He wasn't trying to base trade... Happy just ran away because he knows he automatically wins a base trade. There's nothing Sase can do except have some kind of foresight and being probes with him.

You NEVER go for a base trade with terran.
Macsed did it perfectly (yeah he had the stargate build so he was able to win, but even without that he had perfect coverage and decisions to secure the "at-least draw".)

Wut? This kind of situation is very tricky if Protoss has a Dark shrine or simply prepares the base trade by warping some Zealots/HTs in the back of his base. Just because Terran can lift buildings doesn't mean they auto-win base trades scenarii...

Sase is a good player for sure but he played really really bad these two games. Can't even blame it all on the lag either, Happy just rolled right over him.

I did not see the whole game, but i am sure that TaeJa surely made some serious mistake before going for base trade. You know, like some zerg going to 73 drones against 2-2-2. Also, at-least-draw is what should have happened anyway.

Really??? Sase could have brought his MSC...
But you can also leave it at home to defend against small counterattack drops without having to recall the army. It was a really nice move by Happy and Sase should have had at least one probe. Not a balance whine chill guys. But the original post made it look like Sase "chose to base trade", when it was clearly Happys choice

Its not taking anything away from him but so far his opponents have just been terrible. Forcing out the nexus canon is standard and Apollo even predicted it minutes ahead of time.

Shouldn't finale attack from the third, when he sees that Happy is ready for him on that ramp? Stardust did that several times on his stream when I watched it like 3 weeks ago

Indeed. It can't possibly be legit that a non-Korean beats a Korean. Everyone knows that is flat out impossible. Well luckily I assume duckduck is in Korea so we can always blame lag. (Although there is no way lag was the issue here).
Oh and WCS stream is delayed to prevent streamcheating.

I disagree with the caster's idea that TLO is gonna beat Finale now that he's "ready for his playstyle", I think Finale will win again, and perhaps more convincingly than the first time. Curious who's right about this.

Is it only me or is TLO in kind of a "slump" atm? I mean, its no shame to loose vs the EU champion, but after a good HSC run and an awesome Top 5 finish in Season 1, i feel as if TLO hasnt had any good games since then...
Seriously, i want TLO to win so baldy, but this is his own god damn fault.
Hes playing a guy who is known for playing super aggressive/cheesy because of lag or because its his stlye or whatever, and what does TLo do? He goes fucking as greedy as possible and dies to any kind of pressure. Like really what the fuck

I am not a good player. At all. So this is a genuine question? Why do people not just play supersafe against deokduck? I mean you can be 95% certain that he will all in or attack very early. Especially in the online rounds, thats all he ever did in WCS EU. Are his all-ins so crisp that his opponents still just dont manage to defend?

Probably because they fear of falling behind when duckduck plays standard. I dont understand it aswell, people go so overly greedy and very rarely play safe. In a final game i rather end up behing a bit behind than fucking dead.

People should appreciate the skilled players (in this case: Koreans) more and support them.

He would have to get 900-1000 points to actually surpass naniwa who is out (others are still gaining points with him) which is like 2nd place or get 5th and subsequently get to the Ro8 in WCS S3 Finals, both of which are quite impossible. Also, DH points are for like top 8?

Same thing as the last time they met on that map. DuckdeOK went for 2base 4gate, TLO didn't know how to defend.
Two base 4 gate is one of the oldest builds in the game. Surprised TLO doesnt know how to play against it.
Even more surprising since he scouted the gates when they were close to finishing. I think he got supplyblocked at that moment but i dont know why he didnt drop 2 or 3 Spines instead of 1...

Hey guys, don't be sad about TLO. With his recent form, he would have done very badly at Blizzcon. Now he can take the time to practice and maybe go to Korea. Obviously, his time in Europe is not helping him at all.

Just goes to show the foreigners lack of training. Out of all the foreigners we only have 4 in Korea atm: Naniwa, Snute, Sortof, and Scarlett. Just goes to show foreigners lack of dedication of becoming the best in the game. The WCS point board reflects reality. Koreans train harder than foreigners.

Yeah I known, but the problem is that they are crippling the scene in the process. It is not their fault, it just a consequence of their dominance + combined with their culture.
Amusingly it would probably benefit Korean pros to be less dominant x)

I think it is a very common opinion. I actually think it is the most common opinion. Not that people write it but otherwise, especially if you look outside TL.
The Korean dominance is without parallel the biggest problem SC2 has.
if by "problem" you mean "the best part about it," then i agree
That comment was pretty stupid. I dont even know where to start, so I actually just dont ^

Yup, I've also lost interest now even with the many great players (skill wise) that remain. I'll still watch but I feel like there has to be a better system for not watching the top 16 of EU be so scatterbrained.

guess its dumb to like watching ggs
My comment means, that it is bad for any sport to be severely dominated by one country. Good games and Korea are irrelevant to that comment. Although I would say that Korean culture add a certain layer to the issue, we can talk about that if you want to ^.^

Even tho there is nothing to see for me if there isn't foreign players. Korean training havent helped Sortof at all. Not that much that we could see difference. He was doing best when he was still living in sweden. Same for Snute. And Naniwa has been always naniwa, sometimes good, sometimes awful.

Well you have a point there. Although if it would contribute to region lock it is not pointless, I guess it doesnt though, the decrease in viewer numbers are what is really speaking on this matter.
Anyway I think some residency based region lock is necessary if SC2 wants to continue to be among the big boys of esport.

Too many to count, if you had been watching the GSL for the past 3 years like a lot of us you would be able to identify with the old legends easily. I'll cheer for Mvp over anyone else including all foreigners and I'm not Korean.

I said it is a consequence of their dominance. Why it occurs is irrelevant for the effect it causes.

Not surprised by SaSe's play today, would have hoped for a little more, but his confidence when he plays with lag doesn't really help him. We will probably not see him in WCS Europe next season anyway. I think he will try in NA or do Code A qualifier the whole next year because he then knew he had a shot to play his a game while being in Taiwan. Btw congrats to Happy and the duck.

Either you're underestimating Starbuck or I'm overestimating him. He has impressed me the last few games I've seen.
Ofc I'm not trying to say it's like Flash Inno Life Parting or something, I just thought it was the hardest group in the Ro32. Although I will admit the reason I didn't think group A was the group of death was because I didn't think Targa was much of a threat, so I should probably reconsider =)
