After he already lost to tr0n and Dizdemon in the EU qualifiers, that isn´t a huge surprise.
I am a bit worried about RorO, 0-2 Dream in Code A, now 0-2 Ryung here; he seems like he is a bit on a downward spiral since HotS came out.

Oh man, so many players I like already out.
Bye bye to: DRG, Hurricane, Keen, Life, Maru, Symbol, Squirtle, Jjakji + Mvp =(
|
It's that Hydra again! Ugh.
|
I guess WCG qualifiers is a 2nd reason in addition to SPL to why Innovation missed IEM Shanghai.
|
thats unfortunate for life and for soulkey I guess, having to face each other, compared to the caliber of players other players had to go trough.

Life's out But his group was insanely strong, considering he had to face Soulkey
But at least CoCa made it out !

Glad to see the best players (Innovation, Soulkey, & Jangbi) getting through

I'm liking the shot of half of JYP, Bomber, and Khaldor's torso!

How is this going to work out, do all 30 players play in WCG? Seems a bit high for a single region. Do they then go into a bracket together to narrow down the KR players after these groups are done?
|
Why dont they stream these kinds of things or at least some of the big name games? A lot of people would like to watch flash, rain, or innovation play. Oh I didnt see that he was going to stream it

I think the 30 play another vs each other and the 15 that win + PartinG form the Ro16.
Ro16 is also single elim with top 3 making it. But they will be played on different days since it will be broadcasted.

Last year's winner (PartinG) and the 15 remaining players play in a 16 man tournament hosted by OGN to find the final qualified players.

So it sounds like flash got cheesed in both games and just caught not ready for it? Why would flash not scout for cheese you know people are going to do that against a player like flash

Flash typically dying to allins, probably didn't scout and played greedy.

Flash syndrome, play predictably greedy without scouting. Surprisingly happens to a lot of top players who let their guard down versus lesser players.

Players aren't immortal just because they do well in the GSL/OSL. Besides Innovation, maybe even him, anyone can lose to anyone. There's a reason you don't see people with 80% winrate on Korean ladder. The skill level between top Koreans is fairly close. This ain't BW.

So, what do you think about the racial distribution of this tournament?, we have 8P, 4Z and 4T, I do remember "Major" saying that in Korea there is the belief that P is very strong and that the MSC needs a nerf, specially the early recall ability vs Z

Win rates for these qualifiers:
PvT 59–40 (60%) PvZ 53–53 (50%) TvZ 47–46 (51%)

The only games streamed were the ones on Khaldor's stream, right? Other than herO vs Ragnarok what games were shown?
|
so its 15 qualified plus Parting as the invite, and they play in a 16-man bracket and only one of them goes to WCG? Or is it the top 2?

Yeah, I'll be streaming. But the Ro16 starts at 4pm today and not at 12pm as I was originally told. Can somebody from TL maybe change the time of the event on the TL calendar?

in race advances aspect, the data is very misunderstanding, 4zergs, one lost to a terran one lost to a toss and one due to a mirror mu. because majority of protoss players played against each other, its advance rate should be close to 50%,if terran is OP, protoss is at least as much OP as terran is.

Happy to see PartinG perform so well <3

to see rain/SK/innovation again in a ro8 is a testament to their skill/consistency.. truly the best players of their own races
|
Looks like it's setting up for another SK v Innovation Finals. Inno, SK, Rain, Sora - semi's would be incredible.
|
lol thus tournament is alrdy 100x better than WCG will be. when will ro8 be played? rain, inno and SK can make it together, that would be sick
|
Is the ro8 played on the 13th of august?

Ahah Sora doesn't care at all.
Although I'm not sure beating Curious in ZvP is a great feat nowadays.

Heh, the WCG finals are squished into the one free weekend between now and the WCS grand finals.
- Aug 3 - Proleague finals - Aug 10-11 - WCS KR finals - Aug 17-18 - WCG KR ro4 + finals - Aug 23-25 - WCS grand finals

I wish Coca had beaten Soulkey, but going 2-1 vs. him isn't too bad.

Though beating JKS/FanTaSy/Shine/Bomber 2-0 on his way to Curious is quite a great feat nowdays.

Yeah but we already expressed awe about those, this renewed awe was for Curious only =) (and for the whole "not dying right after qualifiers", because most new wonders do that.)

It was a SKT trainee that Flash lost to
Also, Sora got +500 pts on Aligulac for his performance in this tournament so far http://www.aligulac.com/players/1978-Sora/period/90/

Flash lost to protoss? not surprising.

Hopefully Rain wins this and Seasonal 2 Finals to make up for his disheartening loss to Maru in OSL final!

That is quite bummer, I just saw all of them, SoulKey, Innovation, Rain all made it. . .

They scheduled the first two days parallel too my GSL casts, so I can't cast them unfortunately. I might be able to do the semis and the last day, but no promises

MKP to take this. Prime rising!

They'd better stream it on OGN..

Even if WCG Ro8 is broadcast tonight (by someone else), U/D group D is probably the most interesting group this season and would be hard to miss.

Looks like OGN will stream this tonight
From DoA's Twitter:
In 5.5 hours @Willchobra and I will be casting the first day of the Korean WCG national finals!
Games tonight should be Parting vs. Rain and Innovation vs. Zest.

Dang that's stacked! Caster-wise too
Guess it should be put in the calendar?

Doa and Chobra should be a lot of fun!

Incorrect, WCG KR's website says that 1st gets 4mwon, and the next 2 get 2.5 and 1.

On same time as U&D? Oh god, what should i choose? Another SKT teamkill (they all so far have been sOs vs Soulkey@GSL level bad) and Innovation stomping yet another protoss or one of better looking U&D groups. Ehm. Oh wait, Doa + Chobra? Okay, now i know whom i shall listen too for sure.
