Easy to explain.

Nexus cannon has the same range as Siege Tanks and lasts a minute.

The push was always a timed push that would weaken the longer it was delayed. The Mothership core takes the guesswork out of that. Pop a Nexus cannon down and you can't advance tanks into range of a natural nexus without being seriously exposed.

Completely forgot about the Nexus cannon. I was thinking of MSC abilities because that's the only thing that Protoss has new to HotS to change the response to 1/1/1 and forgot about it D: thanks for the correction.


When Blizzard took the siege mode requirement away during HoTS Beta both Terrans and non-Terrans alike said it would make the 1-1-1 overpowered.

For the next week I tried my best to make my old 1-1-1 builds work and it was painfully obvious that the MSC made it a non-viable strategy.

I wonder how would 1/1/1 fare with cheap cloak, though.


About the same as it would without it, but the Banshee patch is still relatively new. Maybe MVP will come up with something brilliant.
