ASUS ROG announces the full player list of the upcoming ASUS ROG Summer 2013, the comeback of ASUS ROG StarCraft II tournaments launching in two weeks on August 1-3.
The qualifiers have been played and the eight qualified players have been determined. The 24 invites have been sent out and the players confirmed. It is now time to reveal the last eight invites and thus all the competitors that we are going to see at ASUS ROG Summer 2013 in two weeks time. The list is truly impressive despite the tournament field being really busy at the moment. The event is no doubt going to be a blast.
Unfortunately Empire.Kas, who earned a spot through the 2nd online qualifier, and one of the invitees, mouz.MaNa, have cancelled their participation to the event. coL.viPro will replace Kas as the second in line from the qualifier, and Alliance.SortOf, who placed top eight in the last ASUS ROG, will fill the last remaining spot.
There you have it. More updates will be announced next week. The first group stage will be announced one week before the event along with the map pool and the full set of rules. Stay on top of the latest news by following @ROGtournament on Twitter and visiting asusrogtournament.com. More info can also be found on the announcement topic which is kept up to date with the latest news.

That's a pretty robust line up of invites, I've gotta admit. Greg and Khaldor casting together sounds like we've gonna get some pretty sexy anlytical commentary too. This tournament keeps getting better and better. I'm so glad its back! :D
I was hoping for a 2GD incontrol apollo tlo casting comeback :/ it makes the khaldor idra duo pretty faint in comparison. going to be some great games and really analytic casting tho.
HyuN is seriously attending almost every tournament available not restricted by WCS region locks. I think this is like the sixth or seventh tournament this year that isn't absolutely connected to WCS he has attended.
I'm really looking forward to see SjoW play offline again. Not an easy bracket at all but I will make sure to supply him with all the water, candy and love as I can! First time I'm visiting Helsinki as well :D! Will be epic!

And it works, he's #20 in the WCS ranking and can definitely reach the top 16. I have to say it would be funny (and nice) for a player barely participating in WCS to go to BlizzCon.
Soooooooooo happy to be there with friends and LAN and watch so good starcraft. Gona try to get as much singatures and pics as I can. And good chance to improve my swedish a bit more, because so many swedes are there =)
After seeing that 6 of the top 8 from 2013 DreamHack Open/Valencia have been invited (all of the top 4) I thought I'd add some hype by looking at the top finishers from each race that are not attending and see who could replace them...
Story lines: I'm really excited to see if the how the DH RO8 players do in the next tournament with the competition getting a bit harder. (Especially if Goswser can make another deep run or if HyuN can win back to back gold!)
The influx could give us another rare protoss champion! (edit: and the first for this tournament!) (related) Has Jaedong found the key to his ZvP? - Can he get his first SC2 gold?
The last two ASUS ROG winners were . Will we see that continue (possibly with TaeJa defending) or will they get denied top 4?
I'm quite sad that no Invictus Gaming players were selected to participate. iG.EdIsOn (iG's manager) told me he would try to put his players in after some TLers and myself advised him on how to submit an application. seeing how Jim is doing in WCS NA, it could have been an awesome storyline. I wonder if they wanted travel accomodations or just couldn't get visa in time.

The best players going are Hyun, DRG, Jaedong and Taeja.
Alicia is better than DRG
San too.
Maybe San
Not Alicia in anyway
San is definitely better online. Offline remains to be seen since it's San
God I still remember SadZenith in the GSL Open seasons where he would qualify with ease to screw up completely in the first round because it was broadcasted

ForGG ?
Nah, he only has one good matchup
Two good matchups. He only struggles in TvZ. And he's way better than DRG atm.
I disagree, DRG is a solid Code A player while ForGG is just a mediocre player in Europe
I think you are underestimating ForGG
I'd say they're probably somewhere in the same range right now. Either one if on form and ready for this could go far... On the other hand, there's a fair bit of talent in the tournament and we could also see real early exits.
Unfortunately, ForGG will have to forfeit ASUS ROG as he won't be able to get his visa until the 10th August. The slowness of french administration is overwhelming.
