Why would they play bo3 in the group stage if map score doesn't matter for the tiebreakers?

Because map score is a silly way to eliminate someone from the biggest tournament in Korea.

Then just play bo1.

But Bo1 is a silly, silly way to be eliminated, also. And this shouldn't be thought of as Bo1, it's a tiebreak.

Looks like a normal game. thats why they are pros and it look like this.

But its delusional to believe that there was a chance of fantasy winning.

they would still play useless matches bo3 or bo1...? the bo3 is because it's less volatile than bo1

How would a bo1 group stage round robin have avoided this scenario? 3 people could still finish 2-1, requiring a 3 way tiebreaker.

How? With nothing at home, I think mining and having it run out of energy might be the only option. Maybe a warp in but I dunno if it was on cooldown.

Rain pretty far ahead here.

He's going to die to dts.

Wow. (Well maybe not die but should do big damage)

edit: You run from the oracle because the oracle loses charge time chasing the probes. It dramatically decreaes the effetiveness with how the oracle works.

Since it doesn't matter if you win 2-0 or 2-1 you might as well play 1 match.

Great strategy if you don't care about determining a "deserving" winner and allow cheese to reign supreme. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Matches have been decided by bo3 in SC2 for 3 years and I've never heard this argument made. Why do bo7 in the finals? It makes no difference if you win 4-3 or 4-0, so you might as well just play 1 match right?

It's not delusional at all. It's ignorant to completely disregard what the OSL and going out 0-3 means to a player like Fantasy. But yes, OGN is to blame for having them play last. Should never happen
