i dont get the casters... 8 probes cost the same amount of minerals as 4 hellions and workers are far more important right now.

Mineral isn't the only cost for those Hellions.

The problem is, the only way to ever be sure there was no throwing, is if Fantasy wins. Any other outcome will always leave doubt. Which is completely the fault of the group system being used.
