yea... group days + gsl format would be way better + better storyline, now there are alot of pointless games that have to be played and no group of death day hype

Well only thing I like about OSL over GSL is that they play just one match per day. They get to prepare better. If they just mixed GSL format and played it out over five days you would have the hype last day which would be garanteed to determine last 4 players. Now it's a bit of an anticlimax ending.

I dunno, personally i prefer the group/day. This feels more like a couple random matches/day rather then a group you can follow from start to finish which is more exciting for me. Yes there is maybe less preparation but have we really seen that much prepared play so far?

Your naive to think that Fantasy will try and beat Rain. It makes 0 sense for him to actually win the matches. He can very easily 'make mistakes' like supply blocks, messing up proxy rax position, etc. in order to help Rain advance. It's honestly OGNs fault for putting them in this position.

especially since fantasy is always supply blocked anyways so it won't even look like he's throwing :p

I know... TT...

And I just wanted to make this thread in hope of getting more TL+ obviously. That's why we make LRs right?

Of course that's why we make LRs. [image loading]

before the OSL RO16 i was pretty excited for the new format, expecting a lot of interesting preparation and strategies, but so far we haven't seen too much of that. it's still a nice change, other than the fact that fanta will throw subtly haha

Fantasy is not going to beat Rain.
Fantasy isnt playing for anything at this point.
Rain has his ro8 hopes on the line.
When is the tie breakers being played?

The format is good enough for one of the most watched competition in the world (UEFA Champions League) but not good enough for Starcraft fans. Yay Starcraft!
(on a sidenote, I agree they should have teammates playing always first week..)

Well round robin is good format if you apply certain rules.
This osl format is nothing like champion league.
1. Champion league count the goal difference.
2. Always play last round together.
Therefore, This osl format is just not as good, and not a proper one.

Hopefully soO brings the same strong form he's been showing in the past few weeks. Maybe it'll even be enough to take out a strong player like Symbol!! And Rain's definitely beating FanTaSy... There's no way FanTaSy will actually attempt to win those games.
As for Bomber vs INnoVation, my head actually tells me Bomber will win, so lets see what comes of it!

To add to that, it's unrealistic to expect football players to play more matches in the same day or even in 2 consecutive days and there are always more games played at the same time.
And yes, I would be rather unhappy if we had months of ro32 and we only had games 2 days a week and they all broadcasted at the same time. Wouldn't you?

EDIT: By you I mean ammanas, not baron.

Sure OGN is at fault for arranging it so these two meet now, but it's just such bullshit assuming that Fanta will lose this because he wants to lose. Fanta will lose this because he's the inferior player. His macro is bad, he gets supply blocked a lot, and he's a mere shadow of what he once was. Stop assuming such destructive ideas.

No one is saying Fantasy is worse than Rain, everyone is complaining that if this were the very first game, fantasy might actually try against rain. But now, if my teammate and I had to play, and if I win we both get knocked out, I lose then he advances. Just like every other person in the world, I tell him "hey, scout in game 1 and I'll prepare X cheese, and play greedy and game 2 and I'll play really safe". Now, it's a guarentee that Rain wins even if Fantasy does try. If they play the first series against each other (instead of the last series), I want to beat my teammate so I can advance, so I don't tell him my strategies. I honestly am dumbfouned how OGN, who has hosted tournaments before, did not consider that teamkills should be played first. It took GOM one tournament, if even that, to figure out it's a horrible idea (as far as I remember, they have always had teamkills played first).

Why are people not saying Fantasy is worse than Rain? He is, really. And he's on the losing end here no matter what. He will lose, people will find reasons to call it a throw, and Fantasy takes the blow. I'm just hoping people will be mad at OGN and not Fantasy at this point.

Nah, I think that's too obvious, no one would ever blindly tempest rush. I think Fanta is going to sit in his base and mass maurder/tank, and be caught off guard by scouted mass voidray.

If I were in Fantasy's position, I would make sure I lost (easiest way, tell Rain your strats so can he easily counter it by "scouting" a bunker in your natural and immediately guess the all-in). I think everyone, if they were reasonable, would acknowledge they would do the same. The situation sucks for Fantasy, I feel horrible for him actually. He got really screwed: you win and everyone hates you for screwing over a teammate, you lose and you threw the game. Honestly, what is OGN thinking doing teamkills last. Just so stupid, but I guess it can forgiven since this is the first tournament they have ever run, right? It is their first, right? No tournament would be stupid enough to do this after running years worth of tournaments.

You don't even have to be that obvious. Fantasy and Rain could just play a few practice games in which Fantasy does the same thing 10 times in a row, then Fantasy does the same thing live on air and Rain will build counter it. They're teammates, we'll never know if it's planned or not unless Fantasy stomps the crap out of Rain.

In that case it probably wasn't.
