Boxer isn't January who sends out random lower A-team players in important ace matches. Rain was probably one of the best SPL players and choked at a really inopportune time. He choked at 3 inopportune times this playoffs and 3 times last season! For those who want to defend Rain, he hasn't won a playoff game in SC2 yet. What happened to Rain... There was a time when anytime he played, you know he would win. He's basically the reason SKT is out now... He only shines when the playoffs aren't around. Last year he was burdened with the GSL and lost both the GSL and the playoffs. This year he does poorly in OSL and playoffs. He has too much to concentrate on. He may be like Bisu where you either focus on individuals or team leagues. And skt told Bisu to focus on teamleagues and you see how it worked for them.

NaDa, YellOw, Reach, Anytime, to name a few players who were basically inactive all did pretty poorly. Honestly I'd think that Boxer would know what it's like to be a progamer more than any of the other coaches.
I should rephrase my premise, that Boxer doesn't appear to live the out the gruelling pro-gamer schedule anymore. He's married, and has had many professional and business accomplishments in his life. He isn't rising from the ashes anymore, a warrior built out of the struggle. He's just the Emperor with all his countrymen by his side.

I don't think that OOV "lived the life of a gruelling pro-gamer," when he worked for SKT but his underlings still did just fine.
He was married and had a son, and was forced to retire after losing passion for the game and messing up his wrist.

Hmmm, I would hesitate to agree about SKT this season. It's sort of true, but many of their players (I think) have seemed quite unreliable. Plenty that are capable but none that have played consistently enough. They all have their weaknesses. FanTaSy really seems affected by streaks, Rain apparently is also ad doesn't seem good in Ace matches, but they and numerous others have also performed very well at other times.
I actually feel like STX has a more reliable line-up, even if there are less players that you would consider as skilled as more of the SKT players. They seem more solid.

But if he were truly a great player, which I believe he is, he would be able to handle it like INnoVation. INnoVation single-handedly carried STX this far (arguably Trap as well) and still manages to win every fricking game in OSL. It's depressing that Rain can't carry Bisu's torch

I honestly can't believe SKT even made the playoff with so many weaknesses. But Rain was strong enough to carry us most of the time. But he failed when it matters two years in a row now. SKT has some rebuilding to do.

The only part of this that makes me really worried is Fantasy being streaky. Wasn't he known for being a rock which weighed the team down in BW or am I just misremembering?

TIL that Boxer has no ring attached to...(I only know her English reference) Jessica, was it?

They never got married to begin with, they are still dating

Glad that STX won. Now they just need to beat KT so that there's a Woongjin vs STX finals

Seems like Rain kind of needs to get his head back into the game.
