where he lost against really stupid shit... yeah I remember that. I mean, I'm happy for starbuck and all, and it does not matter how you qualify, but i don't think it says anything about genius not being good enough for EU qualifier.
Would be cool if EU holds again. Azubu could've done with another incredible Genius streak in the GSTL today. Lets hope his beast mode has worn off now.
Thanks for the link! So unless I'm bad at reading, dates for the next qualifiers are yet to be announced?
It's not written but it's thursday I believe, but I don't know when the signup opens, maybe one or two days before. Just check the article every day and you'll eventually find out. :p

I'm not actually too sure about it. JonnyREcco is advanced in the bracket but there is no score given for the match and says 0-0 draw. Last time this happened in WCS AM it was a mistake and the other player really advanced (Mini vs Heart originally showed Mini winning but no score given. turns out Heart won 2-0)
no longer shows jonnyrecco advancing so I guess it was a mistake

The mini vs Heart issue was actually just me entering a 2 and 0 in the wrong text boxes when entering the scores.

so happy diestar beat lalush nothing against lalush personally but seeing him flame even enemys like white-ra for minutes live in tournaments on stream ... we no need that in the wcs if they should take us as a sport ... if he not change his attitute he wont get a break trough in sc2 i think ... he work against himself

Genius did the smart thing and did not try to play it out wihile 10 probes behind, instead he used his 3 immortals and busted sockes ass.
Ye I just wondered why it looked so onesided with genius having so many stalkers left, but it makes sense in light of how the game went and the damage genius did early on.
Hm, San is the Korean hope in the top half of the bracket, and Genius is the Korean hope in the bottom half. With only two Koreans remaining and a bunch of pretty strong foreigners, I wouldn't be surprised if at least one qualified player isn't Korean.

MANZENITH! Slayer of nerds, blocker of his own nexus, biggest upset in SC2 history and a master of forcing sword swallowing. Also famous for making great builds, a lot of pros has stated they got the build from him.

Still solid defense by Targa, especially since he didn't scout it until very late. GG WP!
No excuses.
Have you tried playing from Europe on KR servers? I have, and with that experience I'm amazed Genius could even put up a half decent fight.
It doesn't matter how good you are, playing with 300+ms is really game breaking.
This discussion was held so many times its not even funny.
Its their choice to play EU, so they got to deal with it.
I agree, but that still doesn't take away the simple fact that playing with 300+ ms severely impacts your performance.
^ this. It's a factor and that cannot be debated. Of course it's the korean players choice. But that does not change the fact that it's very difficult.

Of course, people are very much aware of that fact. The problem is that this is a main excuse for Koreans being eliminated from EU tournaments. Sometimes it seems being a statement in flavour of "no way a foreigner kills a Korean, no no no it had to be lag".
In my opinion the lag thing should be taken as a given fact and never spoken about again, it has been grinded to death at this point.

yes i have, its better then playing sc1 in normal ladder ... its quite annoying and its by FAR not perfekt but its doable. 300ms are not the world its bad but hey ... its not like a gm would lose to a master or something that impacting. targa is just incredible good ... thats all (yes genius might be better and yes the lag might have an impact BUT the impact goes away when you play alot with it, like atfer 200+ games you have nearly no worse play anymore. if you wanna play on EU for money, go and train there too so you know what you do ...) absolute no excuses

Maybe
But still. Its a lottery. All the players that enter are good enough to compete. Surely seeing that fulltime pro's dont make it all through these qualifiers and will not be part of WCS this season. I think u should play with the intention to make ur mark in tournaments like these, if u can do that, mission completed. Qualifying is nice but need a bit of luck to or so much more skill then all the others. But i think there arent many players that are sure of getting out (like innovation, soulkey for example). MC also failed in his first attempt at wcs eu.... Best example there is.
In my opinion shutting down vines is mission completed Koreans everywhere will now be scared of EU's downfall

European fans shouldn't have to worry too much. The only korean left that has a realistic shot at qualifying is Genius and he has proven to be beatable

I agree with that sentiment. To be fair I also wouldn't mind seeing Pro7ect qualify too (if he even signs up to the last qualifier). Inca, Vines and HoeJJa are just empty names to me. I guess Genius would be okay, but I'd rather see a European defend the wall.

but I like genius....
Dude I love genius. And he has lost 3 times in a row against the bracket winner. such a shame.
He is probably most well known for blocking his own nexus during a forge fast expand with his pylon against CheckPrime during one of the open seasons. However, he made up for it when he demolished the group of Nestea, BoxeR, and Ensnare (at the time were all still fairly strong names) in GSL March 2011 where Artosis said he would swallow a sword if San made it out of the group since he was the worst player in Code S. San went all the way to the Ro4 that season before losing to eventual champion MC. He played for Zenex and New Star HoSeo for a while. He is currently on AZUBU.
He is known to be a very good player when it comes to qualifiers. He has qualified for several seasons of GSL, a MLG, and an IPL. However, he seems to have bad nerve problems when it comes to playing in the live events and is often eliminated early. He is also been referenced in many korean interviews for suggesting build orders or helping come up with protoss build orders. He was partially responsible for the sentry drop fad for a while in WoL after he beat Life with it in GSTL while on NSH. He beat Life again this season as a member of AZUBU. He played in the last season of WCS KR where he was eliminated 1-2 by MarineKing in the Ro48 of the Challenger Division.
He has also recently won a bunch of EU daily/weekly cups or whatever for what I assume was preparation for dealing with the online lag. That's why if you look at TLPD he has a ridiculously high ranking. He's like 50-10 in HoTS on TLPD from those.
