Coming to you from the Electronic Sports League is our very own Starcraft 2 Team League.
ESL Euro Series brought to you by Raidcall

Casted in English and German

Casters: TBA

Qualifier #1 will be held on: Monday, Jul 22 6:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) Signup
Qualifier #2 will be held on: Wednesday, Jul 24 6:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) Signup #2

The format for the series will be 5 Bo1s with the option to use a single player twice. If your team wins 3 out of 5 matches you win and advance to the next round.

There are 7 invited teams (since K3 is no more) from the previous season and 3 qualifiers. The first 2 qualifiers will have 4 slots for advancement and then the third qualifier will contain a single slot to make up for K3's loss. This is known as the Last Chance Qualifier, teams will have to fight hard in order to secure a spot!

The invited teams are as follows:
  • Mousesports
  • Team Empire
  • CompLexity
  • Cascade 1xBet
  • NaVi.SC2
  • Team Dignitas
  • Team Acer

5,000 Euros in total prize money will be awarded to the winners!

1st - 2,500
2nd - 1,500 euros
3rd - 1,000 euros

Map Pool will be:
  • ESL Belshir Vestige
  • ESL Derelict Watcher
  • ESL Neo Planet S
  • ESL Newkirk Precinct *
  • ESL Red City
  • ESL Star Station
  • ESL Whirlwind

Be sure to come back for updates! More Info Here!

Mouz, Acer and Empire are interesting while I couldn't care less about the other teams. Hopefully some more good ones get in through the qualifiers.

Hmm, does a 'Euro Series' perhaps mean that there might be an American equivalent? or perhaps a Chinese equivalent? Great to see from ESL as always. Must be hard for compLexity to play though.

We only have the Euro Series, the qualifiers are open for all teams but they have to play on the EU server. compLexity did a great job, they reached the 3rd place last season.

40 teams checked in for qualifier #2. Definitely there is some demands for clanwars

I still want a team league with a 2v2 match (but as the starting map, not ace... or both starting and ace).

I am happy to be seeing team leagues continue. You're able to bring a longer season while not requiring too much from the players (like they would if they had to play weekly bo3s)

Yes, really disappointing the qualifiers weren't streamed by some ESL stream.

Now it's in between Copenhagen Wolves and ESC on one side, and Team MiA, oSc and CPLAY on the other.

Yes, really disappointing the qualifiers weren't streamed by some ESL stream.

The second qualifier was broadcasted yesterday and also on the calender: hardly anyone watched. The interest in watching seems to be less than the interest in complaining about not being broadcasted

It's a shame that the prizepool isn't bigger, because it might be the biggest (in terms of participating) foreigner team league.
Just look at that list:

Mousesports

Team Acer

Team Empire

Complexity

Casade

Natus Vincere

Team Dignitas

MyInsanity

Western Wolves

Fnatic

RoX

NewRoSoft

Alien Invasion

Team MiA

Copenhagen Wolves

Hope the league will be a succes They need to advertise it as much as they can + Have some good casters

Not sure if there was/are any stream, casting (or anything at all) regarding the tournament >.> Then again maybe i missed everything, but no matter what, i really that they will try to get people aware of it, if anything else add it to the calender and have a stream.

Edit: Stream as in English stream ofc

Enough venting, here is an update:

Mousesports, Team MiA, Fnatic, Team Acer, Na'vi, mYinsanity, Digitas and Complexity made it to the playoffs. The brackets are:

Mousesports vs Team Acer

Fnatic vs Team MiA

mYinsanity vs ???

Team Digitas vs ???

Its a bo5 of bo3s. The team to win 3 bo3 wins and since they are mostly played simultaniously it usually didnt end at 3-0, so winning 9 maps per war isnt unusual

Nice defense Hasu, now finish him please!

You get points for winning 1 game of bo3 as well.

My favorite team league style, just the 2v2 missing.

Yes this is by far the best team-format. 2v2 doesnt work in sc2, especially zerg is incedribly broken in 2v2.

vortix playing in esl, and fragbite cup??? replaycast in esl?

I think its the other way around, but I guess we'll see as soon as one of the games is finished

Yeah, at least the overlay indicates that Fragbite is a replay cast.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

can always be lessened by the map. Or you'll just see ZP mirrors. But it is probably to late now as 2v2 meta would just be to far behind and not look good enough to be entertaining.
