People tend to disregard the advantage of home for e-sports but anyone who watches afk-sports knows the disparity between playing at home vs on the road. Koreans especially, don't travel very well. What Jinro did to the Koreans in Korea surpasses this.

Poll: Sjow vs Life, biggest upset ever in sc2? Yes! (97) No! (31) Not an upset. (4) 132 total votes Your vote: Sjow vs Life, biggest upset ever in sc2? I'm trying to remember how unknown thorzain was at the time of TSL, he was already a bit hyped due to taking out fruitdealer(and slightly because of nony), but he was going against the best player in the world. Just don't know. Poll: Biggest upset ever? Sjow-Life (40) Thorzain-MC (9) Haypro-Nestea/almost MVP (5) 54 total votes Your vote: Biggest upset ever? (Vote): Thorzain-MC I think the difference here is that LIFE is considered not just one of the best players in the world but also probably the best ZvT player in the world. It's been a while, but I feel that MC (durring TSL3) was not considered super strong in PvT. Second, Thorzain not only was already on a roll before meeting MC. Sjow hasn't really done anything this tournament that made anyone think that he's anything other than a former "occasional online cup winner". I think this is by far a greater upset than Tfunk>MC (although that's still one of the top 5 series of all time in my book). How many Life HoTS ZvTs have we seen? Around 20 maps I guess?

If he was on a kespa team he would be good but not great (on second thought he might improve alot cause the crazy practice regiments). I just think Kespa players are pulling away from the esf players. How can someone who won literally everything in just a few months be overhyped? I mean, the result this Dreamhack are definitely disappointing from him and the last GSL wasn't great (But it WAS the group of death, two of the best players had to drop out). Innovation did lose to rather unknown players as well, it just happens sometimes. And you should really consider one fact: Life's 16, he goes to school beside his SC2 career. And again: He won almost everything he could possibly win (GSL, Blizzard Cup, Iron Squid, 2x MLG)... someone like him can't possibly be overhyped to be honest.

This is all far superior to most other esports tournaments at the moment (especially looking at current WCS season and MLG...). Excellent job with the constant technical difficulties, several 1,5hour breaks with maybe a 5minute interview during that and about 200 people there with plenty of empty seats.

How would you rate Sjow's chances of taking a Bo3? :D How things have changed haha. Is this a subtle jab at balance? O.o You can take it as a subtle jab at current balance or a huge uppercut at WoL's balance. I'm Terran and I like Terran winning, so take your pick ;D

A 2nd tier foreigner shouldn't be able to compete with a tier 1 Korean Just like banelings? Both banelings and widow mines force micro. When the tier 1 Korean tried to fight 3-3 marines with mutas head on? banelings require a lot more to use. widow mine is a shift click and set for game. never have to go back there. a bane mine you have to activate. and if you are talking about splitting required vs banes yeah but you can see them coming. widow mines just get left all over beccause they activate themselves But you can morph 20 banelings at once. Mines once borrowed are stationary while banelings can chase after you on creep. Zergs also have lings to help surround. All Life needed was an overseer to clear the mines but he rushed to tried to finished the game. He also ran in with his lings and banes to Sjow's production with sim city instead of taking out the forth. If it was just mines being OP that made Life lose to Sjow's. Then Life would have a hard time vs any Korean Terran in GSL/OSL. so going to have an overseer with every spawning group, ever? The mines are too easy to set all over the map. they dont need to move because they target themselves. sjow played well, life played bad, but life still should have cleaned him if not for the efficiency of mines. Ive said mines are too easy to use for their dmg since HOTS release. Just this shows it's some bs when 2nd tier foreigner can even claim a game off a Korean
