Whoa now, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Remember TSL3?

CrunCher over Idra
Thorzain over Fruitdealer
Adelscott over MVP
Goody over Nestea
Kas over Nada
Thorzain over MC

That tournament was the best ever in my opinion, and it was full of upsets.

Thorzain over MC maybe is a bigger upset.

Yeah but remember it was played online.... 1 month later everything changed and since then 99% of all major tournies have been won by Koreans. TSL 3 is the sole exeption because it was online.

How is any of that bigger upset? That was TSL3 played from the comfort of their room with internet lag, while this one is live! Pretty big difference

This is pretty close...

Was a very exciting game but both players made fundamental poor play. Life with his rally point over 3-4 widow mines, Sjow with his naked raxes that floated him to above 2000 minerals.

It's one of the best parts of the LR thread, because it's so obvious that these posters are emotional wrecks who are unable to control their angst and need to lash out. It's really the sweetest part of this kind of victory for me.

Life was off his game and he played bad.
That is true.

Sjow pulled a huge upset though.

Love Zelniq's points always.
That is pretty much exactly what Life needs to take with him from this game to work on. Learning from this will make him unstoppable imo....

but that's exactly what happened

come on

12 marines and 2 widow mines at a time was his production with 2k mins and gas @ 160/200
he forgot combat shields for a long time
didn't get tunneling claws

after life recovered, life played even worse. 2/2 with awful muta upgrades against 3/3 marines? lol.

yeah, but it's Life's own fault. He keeps on dealing with the mines damage by awesome micro. And then he loses because there are mines everywhere.
Happened against Innovation.
Happened against Sjow.
Will happen again if he doesn't stop relying on micro instead of overseers (and micro).

I'm pretty sure there's some imbalance involved in SjoW (SjoW lol...) beating Life, grats to him though, good audience.

Sorry about the inconvenient truth.

1. SC2 has never been at a better state of balance .
2. It was freaking Life vs a random foreign terran.

Sorry for the truth but your so-called "inconvenient truth" is has nothing to do with truth. That's the truth.

Pretty sure the closest SC2 has ever been to balanced match winrates was actually right before 4.3.2 went live

That and the great splits from Sjow.. Life didn't ever get a really good baneling hit. Ye sometimes they traded, but didn't see a cost efficient implosion of marines. Awesome game.

Quality could be better, but exciting games can be low quality. High quality games can be boring.

Tbh. in TSL3 noone really knew the skill difference between the servers(we knew, koreans where better, but not how much). And everyone knew, it was online, with an earth-quake partly destroying the connection cables before some of the games. This one is bigger IMHO. Also Kas>Nada was´nt that big of an upset.

Shouldn't you just try to spread out the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz then? So each WM will just hit 1-2 zlings rather than a bunch? Dunno, terrible situation, but you must be able to mitigate it some way?

Now I'll have to cheer for Jaedong. I don't even like Jaedong.

this. each of those mines had 15 - 20 kills on them. ~70 lings, banes and maybe some mutas.
gj sjow

Actually, Sjow said on swedish stream that he saw his mines killing a LOT of transferring drones that the Dreamhack stream didn't show us. So, add a lot of drone kills to those mines as well.
