If sOs won the championship everyone would be "OMG HE'S SO GOOD, LETS DO IT", but he played a new build and lost with it, although having quite a close game against the mostrous TvP player.

Macro was the deciding factor there, not marines > tempest/storm Now why was it that he was only trying to take his fourth? Right, because you can't defend very well with a Tempest based army, you constantly have to fall back to your HT and keep pulling your lines back, thereby exposing your base you're trying to defend. And of course T can just deny any base that the Tempests are not at, hence why he was trying to secure the middle. That's why this (weird) strat incurs a penalty on the macro, so yes, the army composition was a deciding factor here. (Not saying that Innovation didn't macro near perfectly here, because he was).

The problem is that a great Terran like Inno will just abuse its lack of mobility and prevent you from mining while taking the entire map for himself. You have to babysit your tempests/brood lords to keep them from being picked apart by cheap terran units, so it sort of requires you push right into their base and do some serious damage. also think that neo planet s is NOT the map for that strategy. too hard to take enough bases to support all the gas for the tech and the minerals for the static defense. whirlwind seems pretty good for this strat, as well as newkirk development precinct.
