Especially when you have so many dicks in the community.

Regardless, it's true that the whole 'european' melting-pot of the past two milleniums has brought things together. Would have been better to compare French with Spanish and Italian though. I've always wondered about this- because i've assumed the link between the European languages were stronger than the root between Asian languages. However having said this- old Chinese script serves as major foundation for the 3 major Eastern languages (Chinese, Korean and Japanese).

(15-16) because many Korean pros probably dropped out of school around then to start playing Broodwar full time. Then add 3-4 years of no practice and that might have an effect on their level.

English is very similar to German, but it also has a lot of latin roots which makes it similar to those other languages. However, there is no such similarity with Korean, they have no relationship at all. At least a few words and things will be similar between english and Euro languages but Korean is very different and has a lot of sounds missing that are used in English. Obviously English is not just like French, but it's less of a difference for sure.
