Not every series is going to be filled with 30+ min macro games. That doesn't mean that the series wasn't incredible. you have to be a soulkey nut hugger to call a series with 6 one sided all ins, and 1 colossal blunder leading to a GG an incredible series. The only good things in the whole series was Soulkey's remarkable hellbat drop defense and innovations great multitasking in game 2. Not much for a 7 game series between the 2 best players in the world.

Innovation definitely had nerves or something in that last game, to let 3 medivacs fly in after a viking died to mutas in the same area. None the less, SK kept it together. I hope MVP makes a good showing at the finals next week and we get good times.

May I ask you to please stop reposting misinformation? Watch the game again if you have to. At 13:43 the pack of mutas comes back from the bottom and aid the 2 mutas that were there to kill the viking. Innovation is aware of this, thus knowing that at that time theres a huge pack of mutas stationed there. He immediately proceeds to pack 3 full medivacs and sending them over pathing through that exact spot. The mutas kill all the medivacs at 14:03. So there is no way he saw them out of position. because less than 30 seconds ago he knew they weren't at the bottom, they were in his main. And he has no reason to presume they have left since barely any time has passed and since he didn't see them going anywhere (since they obviously didn't go anywhere, they were just sitting there). why would the mutalisks stay in the same spot? they never do that, especially not when just hatching. they beeline for the opponents main. the only reason they did stay in the same spot, is because soulkey probably saw the medivacs load up with the units he was saving by burrowing. yes it was a risk to try to make that drop, but not an unreasonable one. it's probably the last and only drop he'd do against the mutalisks.

1 Rax 1 Fax 1 Reactor 1 Techlab By addon-switching, you can quickly switch production lines. So, one tank is 150/125 I think - double mine is 150/50. You can't tell me that investing 75 more gas and an additional half minute of production time gives you a "huge disadvantage" or even a "slight disadvantage" in a standard macro game, not even on korean gsl finalists level. ___ I just think that this series resulted in pretty bad-to-watch play (it wasn't actually "bad" or "crappy" games, srsly. they just weren't nice to watch!) because both players had lots of time to prepare and tried to find out tactics that simply a) worked best (2/3 base roach/bane) and b) caught the opponent off guard (12/12, hellbat drops). Now, add the fact that it was a freaking on-television-final with a ton of people watching. So, those thoughts make it easy: huge, beautiful macro games happen when both players go greedy, like double hatch before pool, 3cc and stuff like that. But both players are well known for simply winning in macro games (especially innovation, all that "the 3base neverending stream of units" talk...), and what is the best answer to that, if you want to win? Go allin, the hardest way you can. A plat zerg will probably beat a GM terran (at least in EU or AM) if it's one base bane bust vs. cc first. So a 12/12 kills hatch first if not scouted, and a huge roach/bane allin kills triple CC. So please, if you want a real competition, stop the whining about the games being "crappy" - they simply weren't, each game's tactic was pretty well executed (an exception for game 7 with the drop loss - but it was a pleasure to watch SK taking apart Innovation after that). We all would rather like to see a soccer player do crazy moves and tricks, but instead, he simply passes the ball to the player that is alone in front of that freakin' goal and who can just tick the ball with 10mph to score. Doesn't look good, but it works.

Not a troll post..just my opinion. Hope there is room for that on TL ![]() Seemed perfectly natural to me. 3-0, overconfidence by Innovation. Never adjusting because he has never HAD to, tbh, aside from a few rare matches. Then there's the metagame aspect of it, he's thinking "Would SK really all in me 4-5 games IN A ROW?" So 3-1 wasn't much of a shock to him yet, then 3-2 and he started to lose confidence I think. Once it hit 3-3. he had no momentum, and you could see it in his Game 7 play. All that plus SK's reaction and his family's reaction seeming extremely genuine, I can't think it was staged. Innovation just choked. It's happened many times before. What adds to this is that the Korean casters mostly predicted SK to win. That gives it even more credibility to me. Sure, the fan base was mostly in favour of Innovation, but if the true gosu minds are largely giving SK the edge, there's meaning behind that.

Both played very well, but I smell corruption I thought the same, something just didn't feel right about the nature of the mistakes innovation was making in the later series. It was almost like he was dangling his balls in front of soulkey and begging to lose. I'm saying this as someone who had innovation desktop backgrounds etc in the run up to the match, but there's just something about this I didn't like and it wasn't coming from Soulkey's side. However one swallow does not make a summer, just something to be attentive to in the future. The real finals is the global season finals so I'm looking forward to that, hopefully the games will be more competitive and I think we're more likely to see soulkey and Innovation playing at their best this time around.
