I don't believe there is an imbalance in favor of Terran. It's just that the best players happen to play this particular race.

I really like the widow mines and the idea behind but maybe they have little too much hp and are easy to position well tactically even if the opposing player sees the mine and pokes it with a stalker a couple of times before it burrows

It's harder to defend against medivac drops. Much harder, and thus it is easier to be pulled out of position. That's about it.

widow mines are basically extremely fast sieging 5range siege tanks that cost 75/25
when you spam mines all game you see insane terran economy / immunity to aggression / insane map presence
when you dont spam mines you see repeat of WoL (like what polt did. he tried to go tanks LOL)
pretty much for the first 17 minutes of the game, before 200food, mines will clearly always be superior to tanks at a cost of 75/25 compared to 150/125. Not only that, but as you engage with the zerg and drop in food usually you dont hit 200food until much later so mines are clearly just superior superior superior
