Because "patchzerg" is complete and utter bullshit and the worst possible way to talk down on players. Although pros know the game better than any of us, don't for a second think that they don't spout a bunch of bullshit every once in a while, either out of frustration or to stir up some shit in the community (see progamer Twitters, Ryung semifinals). Calling someone a patchzerg is not only stupid and biased, it attempts to devalue any achievements made by Zerg players after the queen patch by blaming imbalance or a boring metagame.

Lol. No need to to paint a bead on your back and have everyone call you out. There's a thread called lings of liberty that has over 100 pages. What, did the a whole bunch of people have a collective psychosis?

The point is that there is absolutely no way to know if the Zerg players who became successful after the queen patch would have anyway. Is Life a patch zerg? Is Hyun? Is Sniper? What about Roro? It's impossible to say because the queen patch happened, but new players would have shown up even if it hadn't. Patchzerg became synonymous with "Zerg player who plays in a way I do not like", and the Lings of Liberty thread became the place for balance whiners to show up and whine together. These "Patchzergs" played to the strenghts of Zerg to win games, just like any Protoss or Terran player would play to the strenghts of their races. People just didn't like watching Zerg win after a while, so everyone became willing to accept that "Hey, these guys only win because of the patch", which is disrespectful to the dedication and achievements of Zerg progamers.

I'm getting very close to going off on rant-mode and completely off-topic; if you want to continue this discussion in PMs I'd be more than happy to do so, if not then I'm done discussing this.

No, you're already on full on rant mode, every race has had to deal with imbalance, and usually because a single unit is the personification of that, ranters will attribute those wins to that unit, with the queen buff however, as the queen isn't really a combat unit but simply allows the zerg crazy macro, the term patchzerg was more applicable then just saying queen OP.

I'm sure you went to the rant threads during terrans and protoss (rather brief) dominance to tell all those people about how unfair it is they get called OP and that collosii and marauders are great units that should not be critisized, lest it detract from the Terran and Protoss players glory.

No, full rant mode would include an angry blog and probably me getting banned for a while. The application of "patchzerg" is much more widespread and different in nature, however - not really comparable.

Is it? You remember the shitstorm when MC won 2 GSL's? Branding protoss as a race completely reliant on sentries and collosus?
Like here and my last post, I've given examples of their similarity, you just state that they are not really comparable without actually giving a reason, which I suppose is fine but means this discussion is basically over.
