The usual: Don't flame casters or players. Don't discuss balance in this or any LR thread. Don't call your fellow posters idiots. Be excited, happy and entertained. |

Really hope the metagame is given a chance before some serious nerfs are dealt out. It's a completely new freaking game, give me a break. Yep, the metagame in WoL was literally this: Terran attacks, Protoss and Zerg defends. In HotS Terrans aggressive options got stronger, so naturally given the metagame, Terran will dominate. Terran base their play around Protoss and Zerg passiveness. That has to change, and it will make the game more interesting. Terran is practically abusing the metagame right now. The reason Terran was forced into the role of the aggressor in WoL is because Terran lategame sucks balls. Yes the the BC/Raven/viking composition is really strong, but near impossible to reach
In hots that changed because upgrades are for mech air and ground

I always liked him. Would be cool to see him play again.
Here's the blog if you are interested.

Dustin realizes that the players under Kespa did switch from ONE game to ANOTHER?

Remove afterburner CD, make medivacs take damage when it is active instead. Suddenly boosting into defenses is fatal. Suddenly boosting multiple times to drop faster or zip between locations is a risk. Suddenly afterburning damaged medivacs is suicide. Suddenly consistently afterburning means they have to be repaired, or stay damaged.

There's only A SINGLE Foreign Terran here and guess what.... he lost.
There's just way more foreign Zergs and Protoss players at this MLG just like there has been at like every other MLG in the past and frankly that's just a recipe for Terran domination in the round of 32. Now the real test begins as the flock has been thinned and the real contenders remain. Last 3-0 vs Stephano is the only real standout "surprise", then again Stephano looked pretty bad at IEM so I'm not that surprised.

I'm confident the Zergs will find a way eventually, but this series was brutal. Maybe the reason is Leenock is just not good enough, Life probably can do better. Oh boy here it comes. Prepare for another "Terran are just better players thread" soon. I'm saying Leenock is probably not top 3 zerg, I wouldn't be surprised if he's not in top 5 zerg ranking. But Bogus is probably No.1 or 2 terran. Currently Leenock is 6th zerg and 8th overall in TLPD ELO Because the TLPD ELO is remotely accurate. Is it less accurate than what fanboys perceive as the best players? I doubt it. Certainly not more accurate.
How about #3 Player on Aligulac rating?
Also, I have no dog in this fight. Just saying.

The fact he was demolished so effectively either means he's over the hill (he's 18) or the game that's been released for 3 days needs balancing. Leenock never lost that badly in WoL. Or Innovation is good? Or a combination of several reasons...? I usually want to slap you for jumping on every KeSPA hype train known to man, but I really cannot disagree with you here - Innovation played to his strenghts and Leenock didn't really know what to do, or didn't have enough experience to handle the drops. *high five*

Since this is an overseas tournament and he's better than both of those combined (as much as we know so far) at that format, yes, that counts.
Turns out it doesn't count though.

What many people are not noticing is that the terran lineup for this tournament is ABSOLUTELY KILLER. Probably 70%+ or so of the top 10 terrans in the world are in this 32 man bracket. Of course terran will win a lot, even if this was WoL. The problem is not that they win a lot, but HOW they win. Innovation just made Leenock, a zerg who held his own since GSL open season 2 look like a foreigner patch zerg. We understand as time goes by it will get better but this is frustrating to watch. And naturally this was only because of Medivacs, and absolutely not because he opened 2-bases Mutalisks with a late third against fast triple OC each game. With the new units terran is able to deny fast third bases of zerg really easy. So zerg is basicly forced to go 2 base tech or play really risky and hope terran plays passive. But terran can open 3OC and pressure the zergs third at the same time. There lies the real problem in ZvT at the moment. Zerg is not able to come out even into the midgame with terran
How exactly does a fast 3 OC deny a fast third on hots ? With what new unit ? Fast 3 expo doesn't mean gassless 3 expansion like you zergs are used to do.

I am hoping response from Blizzard to these ZvT games will be somethink like buffing nydus worm with faster node build time or only mineral cost instead of straight up nerf of speed medivacs. They create interesting dynamic but zergs need to be able to counterattack somehow.
