He managed to stay in because stephano kept on fucking up so bad lol. Neither of them deserved that win...
Stephano played worse than trust. Usually the player who plays worse loses. The player who doesn't play as bad wins. Usually.
(this is not balance whine since I play zerg)

His wall had a gap and let the protoss into his base allowing an almost turn around, it certainly wasn't god awful but it was pretty bad causing a terrible game. Lol, so much sarcasm I'm not getting it anymore.

MKP looked pretty nice, but I think S-class protosses will be a much harder challenge than the ones he faced today There are S-Class protosses? All 4 of them (Rain, Parting, MC and maybe Squirtle)

So useless, just take it as it is. He won two games and is in Code S now, don't try to extrapolate anything from that.
What you can say is that MarineKing is still a beast vs Protoss, god damn he's good. Smart man. I'm with you. Hopefully the next games tonight will be good!

Meant Code-S protoss, but there aren't too many of those around at the moment either!

Ah okay, guess this is undeniable, gap in wall= NOT CODE S LEVEL.

Agreed. From what I've seen from Stephano in Korea, he's low code S at best (I'm more inclined to believe he's Code A level) . I'd be surprised if he makes it out of the round of 32.
Don't get me wrong though. I'm happy qualified as it's great watching foreigners in Code S, but he got lucky today.

I think so too, but sadly there's no way to know for certain.
Congratulations to Stephano and MKP for making it through.

There aren't many of them, but the ones that are in Code S are the best of the best. It also means that there are more players of the other races to eliminate each other in volatile mirror matchups.

people forget he's a trainee who's never been higher than code A, chill.

In 1 week nobody will give a shit about how good players are in wol anyway, so the whole "code s level" discussion is even more useless right now.

Right
for example MKP's teammate Creator is known for his rock-solid defense, and I think he would have been able to handle 2 base pressure such as in the match against Lure exponentially better, essentially eliminating that as a build-order option.

Well that actually makes sense. Those who truly deserve to be there have either stayed in forever, or have gone through the Code A and the Code A qualifiers themselves a few times.

(COME AT ME FANBOYS) By the same logic, there were times when Stephano wasn't there, and someone else advanced. The fact is, the Code S spot is won now, by games, fairly. So that ends any speculations we've had for more than a year now about that.
Will Stephano fare well in Code S? That's a whole different question. And if he doesn't put A LOT of work, he clearly won't.

More players of other races just means it'll be easier to eliminate all the Protosses, unless the Protoss players manage to stand their ground and beat down incoming Zergs and Terrans. Also, I thought ZvZ and TvT aren't nearly as volatile matchups as PvP is.
