Against MKP? Even if he scouts the Marauder/Hellion he has no upgrades, no lair, and no third. He HAD to attack there and just hope MKP fucks up, it was a build order win plain and simple.

He's a Code S player with a Code B mindset.

I said some really dumb thing a bunch of pages ago and people bit on it.

Stephano is Code S Ro32 level at best. Something tells me we'll see him in Code B soon though.

Build order loss doesn't make you float 1.5k on pretty much two base with a third base hatch up. That was pretty bad.

Yeah, can't really say I was inspired by Stephano's play today, besides that one engagement when he got the colossi with neurals.
MKP looked pretty nice, but I think S-class protosses will be a much harder challenge than the ones he faced today

The game was over by then.

His wall had a gap and let the protoss into his base allowing an almost turn around, it certainly wasn't god awful but it was pretty bad causing a terrible game.

But there is the element of chance involved, where Stephano is hoping MKP wouldn't open Marauder/Hellion instead of knowing he would. If Stephano got a proper scout earlier on, he would have not went Roach/Bane all-in and simply played standard. At the Code S level, making blind assumptions isn't a great indication of skill.

wow, best possible outcome. but im pretty sure stephano wouldnt have made it out if yonghwa had participated...

In Code A there are groups like this one sometimes, and you can get into Code S from such games. Saying Stephano is Code S level doesn't imply he is "high" or even "mid" Code S level, just the basic Code S level.

Time to leave the thread, I can already see endless discussions about "Code S level" and what today does or does not prove incoming.
So useless, just take it as it is. He won two games and is in Code S now, don't try to extrapolate anything from that.
What you can say is that MarineKing is still a beast vs Protoss, god damn he's good.

That doesn't make it any less bad. He could have held much better with 1.5k resources of extra lings and some roaches.
