On March 04 2013 19:30 opterown wrote: naniwa beat creator puzzle and genius in pvp if i remember correctly - that's impressive even for the best koreans. virus had just recently beaten mc and nestea look, you can argue bracket luck all you like, but results speak for themselves. are you going to discount parting's WCG/BWC run where he beat a total of one korean to win $125,000? succesful (by numbers) =/= most impressive it correlates in the long run of course... but parting beating adelscott and combatex doesn't prove anything else that he won an easy tournament and earned a lot of money, yeah. you CAN differentiate wins and wins. this is why remarks like "he's 2 times gsl ro8 dropout" doesn't mean much, when code A can be more stacked for you than code s ro8 if luck is on your side. doesn't matter if Naniwa can win in a pvp vs genius when he gets shat on by Dimaga a week later or Bly 3 weeks later. time proved that Naniwa's success was kind of a lucky flick and not consistent solid play. For MVP for example or Polt or Nestea the opposite is true Polt going through MMA, Top, Losira etc is nothing like Nestea raping a bad pvz player 4-0 in his best matchup- the difference is huge. Also I think there are about a bunch foreigners who could make runs like Naniwa with luck on their side, like Kas (who at that time beat Parting, he also beat Seed and MKP, etc) All of that of course to korean standards, he is a very good player compared to foreigners and to me, a god. I'm not trying to hate on him but I like to see these things 100% clearly. The hype on him was sometimes very annoying, maybe his fanbase was too proud? | ||
