That nerchio v. yoda game was pure skill disparity. Nerchio's triple infestation pit (that is if he did not build 3 and remembered ultra cavern) would not have saved the game. There is a pure macro difference and crisis management and army movement. Yoda didn't even play very well. Horrendous drops and splits but in the end pure macro simply beat nerchio's non-existing macro and desperate a-moves.

Yoda played great but nerchios opening played a big part in that. Roaches+spine+roach speed + fast lair + late third means that Nerchios supply was really low... Which made Yodas macro look even better than it was.

Did you watch the game ? Look at his resources man.

What does Yodas low ressources have to do with nerchios bad opening?

What does Nerchio's opening have to do on how well Yoda's macro is ? It only has to do with his own macro.

No idea why YoDa felt he needed to commit so much after killing 4 Sentries for free.

He figured since he just killed 4 sentries and a WP for essentially free (3 workers and some mining), Socke's army would be much much weaker from losing such a big investment, and Yoda tried to seize the win. He reached too far and too aggressively, and he stumbled.

?

if nerchio builds an ultralisk cavern instead of 3 infestation pits, he acutally crushes yoda iwth 8 ultras - he had 1.5k 1.2k but only build 16 lings instead.

dno what ur talking about hoenstly

Can anyone be so kind and explain me why Grubby advanced over Moonglade in Group A? Grubby had 3-2 overall score and Moonglade had the same score 3-2, thus it leads to comparison between map scores. Grubby has 7-6 and Moonglade has 6-5,however it doesn t make sense since 7-6 isn t better than 6-5. So why Grubby advanced over Moonglade?
I used Liquidpedia so there might be a mistake in map scores there however if info there is true than it doesn t make sense.

I think they count the maps overall won by a player, disregarding the losses. So Moonglade has 6 and Grubby 7 -> Grubby advances. Weird though, because Moonglade even won directly against Grubby.

Both have a +1 map score (just like every other sport, they go by +/-, not percentage won). Most tournaments would check head to head after that, but IEM seems to go by maps won as the third tiebreaker (similar to football often using goals scored as a third tiebreaker).

YoDa played great, no doubt about that. But Nerchio is getting too much bashing. It's obvious he choked very hard (probably nervous from playing as a host representative) and didn't play on his normal level.
