I would have started off with JYP / Jaedong vs a team like Khan (who's Terran players are definitely the weakest aspect of the team), especially since Cloud Kingdom is fine for both Zerg and Protoss to play on.

After that, use Stephano to snipe either Jangbi/Stork, and for Roro, Hero/Jaedong/Revival are all solid vs Zergs and any of them should be able to take him out (albeit it would be close).

Since I'm assuming Taeja is unable to play...

This is karma for those who dared to put the last OSL champion on their anti-team. Shame on you all! No respect for the king!!

It was only a matter of time until this happened.

Did anyone honestly think that JangBi wouldn't be a total boss after what we saw of Fantasy?

Oh right, a lot of people may have missed the last BW OSL finals...

You know what, when I watched the game i was thinking exactly the same. Why would you ever use Stephano as a starter when he explicitly says that he sucks at preparing for matches... Even Puma would have been better for this (although he clearly isnt good enough for SPL).

This has been said many times, but Stephano started because the maps are familiar to him. He sucks at preparing, so why would you put him on a Kespa map that he is unfamiliar with?

Wouldn't it be good to force Stephano to start learning how to prepare for matches? It's a pretty awful progaming career ahead for him if he sucks at preparing. That is the essence of a progaming champion. What good is some Winner's League all-kill player, if he just gets crushed in any kind of Bo5 championship finals? True SC champs have always been monsters in boX series with maps and prepared strats. It's the soul of what RTS gaming is about. It's a strategy game, not a game of off-the-cuff improvised tactics.

Stephano's a good player, but if it's true that he sucks at preparing, then he's a good player with a massive weakness.

Why would you force someone to change when he's succeeding with his current methods. Stephano just likes to take it easy and he might not even enjoy the game if you forced him to practice like other Koreans.

Agree.
If a pro sucks at preparing for a match, something is wrong and needs to be adressed.
And this something clearly isn´t the coach choices.
Now he needs to learn how to play for te team in a team league (Preparation), this is not a solo show anymore.

Succeding in solo play, but this is team league.

Never seen so much back tracking in a thread just because stephano lost. Just before everyone was shouting, omg stephano going to all kill. Hindsight at its finest!

my anti-team begs to differ!

Although, after his first PL performance I was reciting prayers for my FPL placement... My fingernails definitely were not happy.

In my experience I have learned to never make a foreign team player your captain. Especially one as large as this one in an all-kill format, where there are no ace matches and only 4 players play. Foreign teams prioritize differently than Kespa teams.

this is the foreigners' mentality

and why they will keep losing.

Yeah, seriously. What the hell kind of progamer "just likes to take it easy." Would you hire a guy if he told you that was his mentality towards work? I really like the system Kespa set up with long-standing teams, coaches, player rosters, and a proleague. I think it's vastly superior to rooting for solo players in random tournaments. It establishes a tradition, a history, a culture, all of which are essential to creating a true industry. I really don't like SC2 as a game, but my love for Khan and Stork/Jangbi/January still keep me up at 5 am, eating plates of fruit while blasting a berry blue vuvuzela in my room, watching my hero Stork once again lose in embarrassingly stupid fashion. And I like how the players on the team feel a sense of pride and camaraderie and work hard so they don't let down their team. I don't know if that sort of team spirit exists at all in the foreigners. Does Idra play tournies and think "Hey, I have to win this for EG, and be thankful towards them for the time they allow me to selfishly practice for my own tournies instead of helping them win in leagues"? Not saying he doesn't, but I wonder if he does.
