LG-IM.NesTea VS. PartinG

The creator of the universe, who finished 3rd of the first chapter, ends up with an unfortunate bracket draw. If a lot of Protoss players are having troubles playing PvZ, PartinG is nowhere near that state. Strong with the “soul train” his trademark 7 gates-immortal, PartinG smashed a lot of zergs in the recent events. Having played so much is also quite a disadvantage for PartinG because it gives NesTea a lot of content to study him and find his weaknesses, which were exposed by Life in the Blizzard Cup’s finals. NesTea has been looking really good last week, and even if his ZvT is still not top notch, his ZvP will surely give PartinG a run for his money.

Acer.Scarlett VS. Symbol

Scarlett might be the luckiest player when it comes to the bracket draw. The Canadian Zerg gets to play her best match-up against a player who has good reason to doubt his ZvZ. Although Symbol is an amazing player, his ZvZ has been given a hard time in recent events. He got destroyed by Snute at the Home Story Cup VI for a total of 6-0 in favor of the Norwegian Zerg and then was forced to wait until the Wild card group to finally get back in Code S because he lost to DRG and LosirA. The runner up of the first chapter knows Scarlett’s style since she had to play against Koreans at the last IPL, but the Canadian looks great in this match-up.

EG.Stephano VS. Acer MMA

Only a few weeks after they faced up at the Home Story, Stephano and MMA have to go at it once again. In Germany, the Frenchman took the advantage and actually did not really look threatened by the Terran. This loss will give MMA another reason to want another chance to beat the Zerg since he will be looking for revenge and will of course be doing his best to defend his title of champion. The Korean seems to be unable to figure out how to get back in shape in TvZ, quite ironic as it is the match up that gave him his best memories on StarCraft II. Both players want to be in Paris very bad and the match will often be asking fans to choose between mom and dad. Not sure which one he is, but Stephano got the advantage coming into the game.

MvP.DongRaeGu VS. CreatorPrime

From the eight series this might be the closest on the paper. The young Protoss prodigy is among the most impressive players of his race and the only one who reached top 8 in the last GSL Code S. In this Iron Squid II he is with PartinG the best shot at having a Protoss in Paris, which did not happen last year. But his opponent is starting to find back his old self back, the killer from the Swarm. ZvP has never really been a problem for DRG and along with being back in Code S he wants to start 2013 as he did in 2012, with a sounding victory.
