dude you almost had it perfect. just switch up 2 of the players and you pretty much called it!

End result was so disappointing lol. I mean, I thought either HerO or Jaedong would win and seeing Zenio win the first match and EG-TL being up 3-1 made it seem like they won't lose but somehow HerO, Taeja and Jaedong all lost their matches(or ace match). Given Rain isn't an easy opponent but seeing HerO go for mass colossi while Rain went for mass immortals with some colossi was a GG in my book, not to mention the lack of speed for HerO and his zealots :/ Either way, go EG-TL go!

I was really thinking Jaedong would bring it home for us in that ZvZ. I mean come on!

EGTL really needs to get better at those ace matches. 3 games of the matches they lost they lost in the ace...

Well the opponent expects Taeja so im sure that most of the other teams study his play

Rain's performance isn't shocking-- he's simply better than Taeja and Hero, but JYP over SOO is a nice upset.
Still, a loss is a loss and these Kespa teams are just going to get better and better. Let's see if they will dominate the all kill rounds like everyone is proclaiming. Personally, I have my doubts. These teams are so deep.

Yup. Can't really fault either team for their decision though. Realistically EGTL could've sent out Taeja or Hero, Rain prepared for Taeja, but most likely could've out PvPed Hero if necessary. SKT1 could've sent out SOO or Rain (in my opinion. Fantasy too perhaps). Hero's been slumping in PvZ (better recently though), but Taeja's TvZ is still pretty great, and if Rain is out there you want Taeja.
In the end it comes down to the players themselves, Taeja hasn't had much nerve issues in the past (far less than Hero especially), but perhaps it is something he needs to improve upon.

You know Rain was 4-0 vs Taeja going into yesterday right? and 3-0 vs Hero. I think JD would have been the best bet.

Aaawww I suppose it could've been worse
|
ugh, why send taeja out against a team with a protoss ace, whyyyy TT

JYP would have been the best bet. The same reason why he was the best bet against CJ even though it failed. vP JYP is the top choice until stephano shows up. Or until Taeja figures out his opponents beat him in TvP by going for greedy and tech-heavy builds. Go 2 base all-in or pressure before taking third instead of going for third before any agression... at which point it's too late already unless you do tremendous drop damage.
And about puma being terrible... I'm pretty sure it's more of a mental block against these kespa players than his skill level... I mean he was atrocious in the game vs Fantasy and it can't only be because he's on the decline, it was far worse than that. If he plays again, I hope they send him out on one of the non-kespa maps and let him play standard, put him back into something he's used to. Well, that's all I can think of right now.
Anyways, it's not like he'll be needed much in the next format since it'll most likely be best of 7 or best of 9... which means 4 or 5 players per team and EGTL has a lot of depth and great sniping possibilities. I'm pretty sure EGTL players can take out any kespa player if they get to choose the matchup. Taeja vs Flash. Stephano vs Rain. Taeja vs Bogus. Stephano/JYP vs Shy. Smart move... don't start your player with the best chance at taking out the opponent's best player. I'd cry tears of pain if they start Stephano vs SKTT1 for example... snipe stephano, send Rain out, profit.

damn TL needs a better Zerg to play in ace match. Taeja is too predictable with his macro style. JD isn't good enough yet so hopefully they will ship Stephano over ASAP.

Hero, JYP, Puma, Zenio, Jaedong, Thorzain would all have lost, I can say that with confidence.

Taeja is now 0-5 vs Rain. It was a poor decision.

It's well known that Rain's weakest matchup is vs Zerg and from what we've seen of Jaedong's ZvP, EG-TL doesn't have an ace level zerg in the matchup. When it went to the ace match EG-TL pretty much lost
