And WTF, CombatEX played in an international tourney and did that well? LOL I can't believe that's not getting more attention. I just now learned about randomly cuz I was browsing through Liquipedia...I'll bet a lot of people don't even know. Actually the only talk there was was about CombatEX. Maybe too much talk about him and yeah, really not enough about WCG. And Adelscott in the finals is already bigger of a news than CombatEX winning in the group stage imo.

And Adelscott in the finals is already bigger of a news than CombatEX winning in the group stage imo. To be fair, Adel did not have to go through a single Korean, dropped his game against combatex, and had his biggest wins come against Fenix, Fraer, and LoWeLy, who while those are very good players they are not exactly the players you want to beat to get a hype train going. I mean, if LoWeLy can take 3rd place his 2-0 of YongHwa, 2-0 of MarineKing, and win against MacSed would seem much more impressive to me in retrospect than a 2nd place by Adel even with Adel winning the head to head. (Now, if Adel wins the whole thing, obviously this changes)

The funniest part is that he was in his worst career's period until these WCG. Unable to go through the pool play in a french tournament for example. ![]()

I bet nobody even expected him to get out of that group.

I'm a Millenium fan but honestly, I didn't see him to go through his group (I didn't expect fraer and KiLLeR fail so hard neither). Glad I was wrong. ![]()

It's at the same time as IPL and GSL, and there are hardly any good players in this. It's not really taken seriously by most fans.
