Parting vs Scarlett game 2

Just like game 1, Parting started out with a Nexus -> Forge, with Scarlett going 15 hatch 15 pool, grabbing another quick third at 4:00. Scarlett managed to get a few zerglings into Parting's main, denying some mining and getting a complete scout.

In a mirror of last game, Parting opted for a Robotics and Scarlett throwing down her Roach Warren. However, Parting decided to go for double observer and grab a third instead of trying his luck with another trademark immortal-sentry push, trying to mindgame Scarlett who had previously scouted the Robo.

Realising a push was not coming, Scarlett threw down an Infestation Pit while simultaneously making something happen with her Roaches; however Parting's defense was too solid and she was pushed back without accompolishing much.

Her attempts to cause some damage to Parting's third thwarted, Scarlett expanded to the bottom right and getting a second macro hatchery and going for a Spire.

At 15 minutes, with his Robotics Bay finishing up, Parting expanded to the center left base while keeping his upgrades going, finishing up +3 attacks and Extended Thermal Lance.
Scarlett, having reached the desired infestor+BL ball pushed out towards Parting's fourth. Parting, realising his current composition was not very well suited to fight the Zerg army, attempted to tech towards Stargate/Templar.

However, a favourable engagement in the middle of the map for Parting allowed the Protoss player to incinerate most of the ground army, leaving Scarlett no choice but to GG, giving Parting the 2-0 lead.

I guess I'm too exigent with pro but heh...

In late-game, it simply is impossible to hit every inject because of the additional things to focus on.

Lowely vs Suppy

Game 1 - Daybreak

Daybreak was the opening match, and both players went for quick expands. Suppy took the earlier speed and continued with a very quick lair, while lowely went for the safer roaches and +1. While Suppy began muta-production, lowely was preparing a roach-attack and moved across the map to punish quick tech. The very early mutas popped just in time, however, and along with a wall of spines denied the aggression of lowely. Map-control belonged to Suppy and he used it to harass and to take a third. Lowely went for the infestors, and managed to catch most of Suppys mutas which over-extended in lowelys main. That left lowely with a supply-lead, an upgrade-lead and the earlier infestors.

Things stabilized, but lowely maintained the upgrade-lead and was able to trade efficiently with the earlier hydras. Lowely went for a quick hive and continued to be aggressive on the map, but was caught in a pincher-manuver by Suppy, and Suppy was able to take a convincing supply-lead. Though behind in upgrades, Suppy continuesly picked the better fights and angles and was able to kill the fourth and third of Lowely. Though lowely had BLs on the field, Suppy was able to slowly grind down the resistance of Lowely and take the victory.

Suppy with the turn-around, 1:0

(Z)Sen vs (Z)Curious - Game 1 - Cloud Kingdom

Curious starts with a 10 pool. Sen starts with a 15 pool Curious is able to cancel the hatch and Sen skimped on lings early. Sen gets the earlier speed. Curious expands behind aggression and gets bane nest. Sen also re-expands. Sen is able to get about three drones. Sen is up on drones. Both go up to lair. Curious starting +1 range and Sen is going up to spire. Curious skipped speedlings. Sen cancels Curious’ third with speedlings. Curious tries to get third again, but is killed. Curious does a counter, but Sen slaughters roach counter. Curious’ infestor finally finishes. Sen starts to switch to Roaches.and infestors. Sen cancels third again. Then he gets drone and delays it further. Sen gets 4th as Curious finally gets third. Sen starts harassing with small units of groups as he replaces them with better units. Sen loses a part of his army in the center letting Curious get a 4th. They engage again, and Curious keeps holding. Curious tried to attack, but is beaten by Sen. Sen counter-attacks for the win.

Sen 1-0 Curious

Very strong play from Parting. He is usually much more aggressive when choosing late game engagements and it sometimes causes him problems. I guess I'm glad he was patient that game.

Rain Is the king of late game PvP. Don't worry you will see plenty of it towards the end of this tournament and you will understand the hype is not unwarranted.

Creator never loses late game PvP (and took out Rain in WCS Korea)

Scarlett looks like she is playing super nervous, she is normally not that sloppy with infestors and broodlords. at most times she had so many broods by that point.

Too bad, shes going to get immortal all inn'd and that will be the series ><
