random arrow key hatred in this thread :o

You use them for scrolling down when you don't want to have your hand on the mouse, you use them extensively for things like word, excel or programming. many (especially older) computer games have a set-up which includes the arrow keys. I can't play platformers with the movement for my left hand, so I don't see why you'd rebind it to wasd. You could be a hipster and rebind it to ijkl or something, but that seems pointless.

except that you don't use ever use word or arrows in programming (wtf?) if you're gosu. anything that has anything to do with text you do with vim. and install plugins that give you vim bindings into very browser. that's where hjkl comes from. but I agree this is neither here nor there, only interrupts the perpetual infestor whine.

wasd is standard because there is absolutely no other way to play games that require 3D movement of a character(See: WoW, Diablo 3, POKEMON, any FPS etc. etc...) efficiently with your right hand because most games require a mouse. Unless you are using some VERY weird set up using your mouse with your left hand. Even left handed people (myself included) don't do that...

I used to use arrow keys+mouse for fps a long time ago(with jump on enter. Some even older fps used ctrl and the like for fire). Don't do it anymore though, mostly only because some games use a lot more keys now and it's easier to map them all on the left side. It's not too hard to play games with 3D movement with only the keyboard(non fps games) and no mouse though. Mouselook is superior of course, but doesn't mean you can't play without it. Even a recent game like Dark Souls PC works without mouse just fine(wasd for movement, ijkl for camera, keys around those for actions). Other control methods still work, even if mouselook is best.

Wonder if Naniwa will follow through on those macro games, where Flash is at his strongest.

Wait, how is flash going to be in an extended series?

Because Naniwa is 2-1 over him.

So I dont understand the tournament perfectly if Flash loses against Nani again is he out of the tournament?

No

What I don't get is what happens if they face again

I really hope they wait until tomorrow for the Flash Naniwa rematch. For two main reason

1) Both players fully rested = better series
2) half the crowd is gone because it's late, would be a shame to have an epic match like that with like onlly 20-50 people in the crowd T.T

IDK what planet you're from but it's definitely not late in Dallas, especially fora gamer audience. Def right about rest though.

I feel like majority of the viewers for sc2 are European these days.

After Flash vs Naniwa ended and it was late in EU the stream went from 65k viewers to 30k.

The own3d stream has been growing as the twitch one has been dying, a lot of sc2 fans will just come back tomorrow when these match's don't mean 'that much'

Wow, why do people complain about extended series when they literally played the same day? Seriously, how does it NOT make sense to be ahead in a series if you just beat your opponent a couple hours before? Just because you're rooting for the player doesn't make it a bad system.

Because it's unfair. The loser have already had to play one more series to make up for his loss against the winner. Therefore, they should be on equal footing when they meet again.

Why?
What about at the ending, where you are just faced against one guy twice?
What about having to face inferior opponets to get back?

I would think, on the whole, extended series makes more sense

It's dumb, Moonglade lost to Violet earlier, so he was sent to the losers bracket. Then Moonglade has to play more matches already and he faces off against Violet again, who just lost a match to some other person. At this point, Moonglade's record is actually better, he'll have played and won more series and they're now both at the exact same round in the tournament, having both lost an equal amount of series.

Yet Violet gets almost a free win. Why?

Both play same # of matches. And Moonglade got knocked down to the LR earlier hence easier opponents. It's fair to
give Violet the advantage.

Violet already has an advantage. If he loses a match he gets knocked down rather than knocked out, whereas Moonglade is constantly one match from elimination.

lollllllllllll

It would be the greatest day of my life, and a perfect ending before I go to bed, to see Naniwa cannon rush Flash twice, gaulzi style.

Can't think of a better way to go out, even in an epic late game macro game.

Extended series from group play doesn't carry over to the championship bracket so that's impossible.
