Yes he has good knowledge of the game, but he doesn't use it in his casting, he relies more on humor and pointing out obvious things.
He is the John Madden of sc2, people just need to accept it.

he's on Wolf level knowledge wise, maybe a bit worse, not sure it's a good thing. It's not because only Appolo/Artosis are able to make proper call that it's an excuse for all the others who try to be the analytic guy

Wolf only really understands Protoss play. It's kind of funny listening to him try to commentate Terran at anything beyond a surface level.

To each his own it would seem, I find Artosis and Apollo to be able to make good calls, but I do not consider making good calls analytic casting. Their analysis consists of obvious statements that I can make on my own without their help.

Apollo is easily the best analytical caster out there since he is also a pretty high level player
e: I would still rather listen to artosis, but just from knowledge perspective

i dont really think its tastosis. they are good and enjoyable, but the best?
i remember when i first heard idra casting nasl season one, and he first used the term artosis pylon and said "yup theres that artosis pylon" i laughed so hard. then i heard a bit more of idras casting and i thought his casting was incredibly entertaining
i dont think idra is the best caster, but im actually having a hard time thinking of someone better
actually, i think i remember QXC casting once and he was pretty nice to listen to.... hmmm yeah id say QXC or Idra are probably the best casters they could make bank forming a casting team lol
and im not even talking about casting in terms of game knowledge, im talking about entertaining casting in terms of personality. i remember idra casting a nasl season one game saying "awwww yeah this terran ive played him he pretty much just cheeses you. thats about it about his gameplay just early cheeses" gretorp: "but idra theres a banshee about to pop out whats that" idra: "oh thats just an extension of the cheese"
