After the game between the first two players, the winner of the previous match will play again. A player on the losing team replaces the loser to challenge the winner of game one on a map of the losing team's choice. Each map can only be played ONCE (For example: EG and Empire send out IdrA and Beastyqt respectively for game one. Beastyqt wins the match, and EG chooses PuMa to challenge Beastyqt in game 2 on EG’s map choice). This goes on until the victor is determined. The z33k.tv Proleague will be played as a best of 9. FAQ Do we have to be a legitimate team or can we be a bunch of friends who create a team together? As long as there are 5 people in a team, you can create a team. It doesn't have to be an official team or anything - just a group of 5 people who will play.
Does that mean if I join a friend team with my friends, that I can't play with my pro-team? Or can i be on the roster for my team? No. You may only play for 1 team.

awesome news! Will be signing up Team oGaming for this :D

favoritism to NA teams. lol. and then, by the off chance some NA team isnt a group of douche bags and doesnt mind trading servers, nooooope. 1 server or not at all.
User was temp banned for this post.

A significant portion of the teams will be EU and so we would expect many teams to agree to play their games on EU server. If both teams agree to play their games on a selected server, they can do so.
|
How are NA accounts handled for teams from other servers? Not all our players have NA accounts, so we would have to share accounts to be able to play, is that possible?
|
Yes - that is possible. We expected that teams would have shared NA accounts for their players and so this is allowed.
|

Yes, absolutely. Even some Korean pro teams only have a handful of NA accounts, we intend to do everything possible to cater to teams outside of NA, but to make it easier logistically we had to pick a default server, and since more people play on NA than EU or KR/SEA...

I'm going to be really disappointed if I don't go into all the recent European teamleague threads and see a post EXACTLY like this one except with "EU teams" instead of "NA". Due to the recent surge of EU only teamleagues, and the large amounts of events we support in EU compared to NA we decided to make these games played on the NA server, it's more populated after all. And we've already had confirmation by many mid-tier EU teams that cross server lag wouldn't be an issue. Many team leagues are run like this, I don't know why you had to go full retard in this one when you hit post.

Awesome I love the team all kill format it leads to exciting games/scenarios.

Can you guys consider removing Shakuras from the pool?
|
|
Oh just a quick question, can our B-Team also play? Or is it just 1 team per organization?

We'll discuss it, any suggestions for a replacement ninth map?
|
On August 14 2012 05:22 goswser wrote: Can you guys consider removing Shakuras from the pool?
My reasoning for keeping it in was not only to float a few maps for the finals, but because this is a team league. You need to have maps that are fallbacks and opportunities to snipe players and there are very few straight up T friendly maps in the pool. With the inclusion of WW I think having Shak is a nice balance. I also wanted to keep a few ladder friendly maps in the pool as it is open to anyone and shak, while old, isn't THAT terribly unbalanced.
I mean look at the pool, Shak is a glaring exception but it's pretty zerg friendly >.>
|
On August 14 2012 06:21 PSIKevin wrote: Oh just a quick question, can our B-Team also play? Or is it just 1 team per organization?
As long as there is no over-lapping of players between the A-Team and the B-Team, multiple teams are allowed per organisation.
You will have to ensure the team names are distinguishable - e.g. "Team PSI-A" and "Team PSI-B" or however you want to do it

Got some pretty awesome signups so far, keep em coming ^^

I would encourage every league to follow the standards when it comes to equality in cross-server play.
I know it can seem like a chore to manage and be difficult to organize, but it's a fairly fundamental thing in online leagues (especially team leagues that involve a lot of players), and sometimes difficult things must be done in order to preserve the integrity of the competition.
Alternatively, it's probably better if you just make it an NA league straight up, and don't actively invite teams based in the regions you don't support to sign up. While it's ultimately their choice whether they play or not, it's still your league, and as such you should aim to guarantee equal and fair conditions to all participants regardless of their willingness to play in unfair ones.

why does everything like this happen on NA?

On August 15 2012 02:16 TsGBruzze wrote:why does everything like this happen on NA?
If you want it to happen elsewhere, get it started... It mainly happens because people pour hours of time into it to even have a working model.

What time will be series normally be played out? Timezone is a serious issue for SEA teams

Quite true. No one here is against high-quality EU or SEA Team Series events, it just happens that in this case, Z33K TV, SixPoolGaming, and a bunch of teams worked together to get things rolling in NA. It is easy to imagine how the format could work in other regions.

On August 15 2012 11:56 warcralft wrote: What time will be series normally be played out? Timezone is a serious issue for SEA teams
Whatever time the coordinators wish to play the series out. If no priority is given to us via email by Sunday night EST we'll default to weeknights EST/afternoon weekends to accomodate EU teams. That's why we included this in the OP though...
The series information for each respective group will be updated and sent to all team captains/managers via skype/email every Saturday morning. The team captain/manager must organise a time with their opponent and email teamleague@z33k.tv with the scheduled time that the series will take place by Sunday 9pm EST. |
Hi i got messaged for my team about this we are based in aussie and new zealand what times will the games be at?
|
^^
This will be how it works.
On a Saturday of each week, we will post up the games to be played that week. We will give you the contact information to your opponent (this is for every team). You must then contact your opponent to agree a time to play before th efollowing Friday. The TEAMS agree on when the games should play the games.
You must revert back to z33k.tv admins by Sunday confirming the time/day that your series will take place. We will endeavour to cast it at the time agreed by the teams that suits the teams .
If no email is received by Sunday confirming an agreed time or no time has been agreed due to whichever reasons - we will allocate a number of timeslots that the games can be played and the teams MUST choose from this.
If 2 teams are playing each other and are both EU teams - they can elect to play their series on the EU server. If 2 teams are playing and they are both SEA - they can elect to play on the SEA server or NA server.
This is how we have opened it to people - we have tried to balance by allowing teams to agree which server to play on provided both teams agree.
|
How can I add players to my team after the initial signup? I even added a player to my team via him making an account and entering all the information and he still doesn´t show up on the league signup page.
|
The best way is to go to the event page, click un-register on the right-hand side, then re-register and add the new team members to your roster.
Players are not required to make accounts - only the team captain/manager or person who is registering the team.
|
Pretty sweet! Hopefully a lot of teams sign up
|
This looks awesome! Looking forward to it!
|
Just a reminder that there's only 1 more week of sign-up's left before we start organising the groups!
|
Today is the last day for signups, if you'd like to compete now's your chance!
|
Team signed up - but definitely need to add more of our players to the active roster... having a hard time making that work.

You can keep adding players to the roster until 31 August.
HOWEVER - You MUST send a registration email confirming the team manager/leader name, skype, z33k account and email address.
Failure to submit this will result is disqualification.

Summary
This is the first week of Sixpoolgaming & Z33K.Tv’s Team ProLeague and what a week it has been! With 40 teams signed up, 20 rounds completed and over 150 replays due to be cast - There will be some exciting games due in the future!
Each week 3 games will be cast live on Z33K.TV, while the rest will be cast from replays and put up on youtube and twitch for viewing. Below are a summary of some notable games that have been cast:
Team coL vs Frost
Our first series between Team Complexity and Team Frost showed us that even a team that was widely considered to be the favorite can have some rough moments. With coLGoswser taking game 1 against Frost’s Terran player Misery, it seemed like game 2, against another Terran, Micromancer, shouldn’t have been a difficult win at all. Unfortunately for Goswser, the Reaper harassment and mass marine play of Micromancer proved to be too much as Frost tied the series.
The third game, between Sasquatch and Micromancer didn’t end well for Frost, with Micromancer’s Thor and bio army being overwhelmed by the ling/baneling army of Sasquatch. Frost chose Protoss player, KU, to go up against Sasquatch, and unfortunately the Complexity player succumbed to the well played forcefields and relentless aggression of the Protoss army. The series being tied up once again, Complexity sent out their Terran player Trimaster, who then proceeded to take three games in a row securing the series for Team Complexity, 5-2.
Team nuBreed vs LAG
One of the most incredible series came from the lesser known Team nuBreed. Their lead-off Zerg player beGreedy displayed phenominal play, completely shutting out Team LAG 5-0. A major highlight was game 3 against LAG’s Verve. Verve rolled a decent Helion/bio army into the natural of beGreedy. The Zerg responded by running a fair amount of lings into the natural of Verve, killing off 15 SCV’s and crippling Verves economy. After beGreedy fended off the push of Verve, he then utilized his ling/baneling/infestor army to push back Verve and secure the win.
Team oGaming vs Team RoH
Our last featured series was between Team oGaming and Team Renegades of Hell (RoH). While oGaming put up a valiant effort, Team RoH took the series 5-3. One of the most noteworthy games would be the second, where the Protoss player, Zor, of oGaming not only denied his Zerg opponents expansion with a pylon, but instead followed it up with 3 cannons. This forced an all-in counter by RoH’s Cuch which unfortunately was thwarted by the full wall-off at Zor’s natural. However, after a nice recovery by Cuch and with the help of some crafty Nydus play, the Zerg was able run a sizeable Roach army into his opponent's main. Following up with a round of 30 lings, Cuch was able to take that game.
So with these games I feel that the coming weeks of this tournament will be highly anticipated. VOD’s to all of these games and more can be found at www.twitch.tv/z33ktv/videos - Schedules of the live cast games can be found on Team Liquid and on twitch.tv/z33ktv. I'm gonna be casting Team oGaming vs TaC on Sunday, Oct 14 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) Stream: twitch.tv/masterdalktv

You know instead of so many useless Teamleagues maybe make a teamleague based on teams that aren't widely recognized and without corporate sponsorship to give new teams/low level teams an chance.
|
isn't that what this is O_O? what big team with corporate sponsorship is in this
|
I will say that arguing that coL and Light are not 'big name sponsored' teams is a bit silly, but I think that just makes it more awesome. It's teams of in general similar level, but gives some lesser known but solid teams a chance to play against a team like Light or coL in a format that isn't as brutal as the IPTL. It's a great format and it's really great to see coL and Light in it, so props to them for being in a tourney to build reputation and their community rather than being exclusively about the money.
The format is awesome, I really regret not signing up our team, and if it happens again I really look forward to joining the next one if it occurs.

coL academy is playing, not the main team afaik??
and LighT isn't a big corporate team (i wish)

Speaking on behalf of xO I just want to say that I have no problem with a CoL or Light in these teamleagues. First CoL isn't using a bunch of koreans or anything and although they are a great team, any team can be beatable. I enjoyed playing them and it makes for great underdog stories and if we make it out of groups we will get them next time xD <3...
